DrShalin is sweet and caring. She really just wants you to learn and understand psychology. She is one of the best psych professors we got. If you try you'll get an A for sure! She grades on effort not correctness.

She was a wonderful professor, both knowledgeable and passionate about the class. The class is discussion based with each student presenting over two chapters with lots of input from Dr. Shalin. Three short papers, a final and participation is what the grade is based on. Show up to class and you will do fine. Wish I could have her for another class

Grades are definitely biased. She claimed I had submitted a statistics exam that had negative values (a complete lie) and tried to fail me on that basis. When I pointed out her mistake, she dismissed this comment. This "prof" needs to be seriously re-evaluated. This type of discrimination should not be permitted.

She really cares about making sure that you learn, and is very VERY smart. She is nice and super helpful too, you just have to work hard, she is not so nice to slacker students that hardly come to class and don't put in effort, but if you just work hard and pay attention she will help you out.

I liked her teaching style and how we had discussions for every class. Participation is pretty much mandatory and worth a big chunk of your grade so keep up! It isn't hard though, the test wasn't too bad either. Avoid if you hate writing papers, lol... You have to write 3. I'd take her again but not for anything too technical!

I thought she was very good in terms of lectures and her understanding of the material. However, what would be on the tests was very ambiguous, as well as pretty much her whole grading scale. I learned a lot in the class but never knew what to expect grade wise. It's a good class, especially if you don't worry about your grade.

I thought Dr. Shalin was a fine teacher. Very concerned about her students too. Her lectures at the beginning of 401 aren't very clear, but her handouts are and she is more than willing to help out with any problems you have during assignments.

I am a very weak computer student. I took her class and not only learned everything, but received an A+.You must be motivated to succeed. Overall I must say the class was very hard, but she was fair and always helped out.Dont take this class if you want easy A's. Perfect attendance+many hours work=A
