Comment:

I took intro to women's studies with Vera last semester. It was an amazing class that changed my perspective and ultimately influenced my decision to minor in women's studies. She keeps things interesting by showing videos and having open discussions. Expect to learn a lot and leave this class more open-minded than before. Definitely recommend!

She is a great teacher, very enthusiastic about the subject and very knowledgeable. Class discussions are always lively and engaging. Her explanation on grading is sometimes unclear but overall a good class. Would definitely recommend taking a class with her.

I thought the class was going to be a little more interesting than it is but all in all it's not that bad. Vera isn't too difficult although her reasoning for her grades are not clear at times. She doesn't give too much work and she obviously knows a great deal about her subject.

Vera is amazing! I learned a lot in her class, even if it didn't always seem like learning. She really made me want to make a difference in the world, and she proves that a prof can be nice and understanding, while still respected by her students. LOVE HER! BEST EARTH MOTHER EVER

Whisman is an amazing professor. Her knowledge and life experience makes this class so much more enjoyable. Her grading is a little confusing at times but the subject material and discussion make this class worth taking. I'm becoming a women's studies minor because of her!
