Prof. Verbit was extremely interesting to listen to. She likes to play devil's advocate, but she only does that to make students think. She is friendly and approachable and will gladly help you if you need it. Her main goal is to make her students think, see several sides of an argument, and question set theories. My favorite class this semester.

i had her for wsc 1 & 2 she is the worst teacher ive ever seen she makes it seem like she knows wat shes doin she never shows up and then the students are punished for it i still havent recieved my final grade for the class or the proficiency exam she is unclear idk how she graduated

do not take her!! its not worth your money. she argues EVERYTHING you say, she cancels class like, 5 times per semester. you think that would be a good thing, but it becomes ridiculous and you learn nothing. there is no point in waking up for this class. she doesnt learn anyones name even when theres like 15 people in the class

What the previous students said is by and large absolutely correct. After a semester in her class this academic year, she was just a popinjay professor. She will go and on about Shakespeare, without sparing any room for dissent. She tries so hard with her scintillating wit, that she's just reduced to catchy aphorisms. A psuedo scholar in her prime.

Far from being the avant-garde English prof., Verbit is rather insipid and uninspiring. Although she claims to encourage a forum of discussion in her classroom, she subjects her students to objurgation if there is even a slight disagreement with her perspective.She also has stochastic tendencies and this is evident with she comes to classlatedaily.

1st-she comes late to her own class EVERY time it meets. 2cd-she NEVER hands back papers and lies as to why she hasn't yet. 3rd-she has NO itinerary set up as to what she's going to do. We wrote 3 essays and got back 1 after over a month of waiting. AND I'm STILL waiting for my grade in her class and it's been close to a month since it was due!

Shes great! she is very helpful and knows what shes talking about. all you have to do is keep up with the reading, which she is fair about and take notes in class and you'll be fine. shes very easy going and nice and wont give you any problems

not the easiest teacher, but definitely knows what she's talking about. shes really passionate and motivated about shakespeare, and makes it interesting. she's also really good about office hours and extensions and stuff. just make sure you read!
