This was an interesting class to say the least. Keep in mind, I usually focus on the positives in every professor I take. Dr. Vargas's class was a joke. We had to write several dozen small papers--no W requirement. He lost control of his class on several occasions to the point where he had to let us go early because he could't lead class. Easy tho

I think he's an interesting guy, definitely unique for business, but this class is just confusing. No clue what's going on or what his expectations are... poster project and participation are the majority of the grade, short papers most weeks that he doesn't even grade, just glances at and uses for in class participation. Best DSCI300 prof, though!

I took Vargas for 303 and he was so enthusiastic about supply chain loved that class. In DSCI300 he is lackluster and it is hard to understand his expectations. I learned little to nothing in the course a waste of time and frustration

Comment:

A breath of fresh air in the SBA. Vargas seems to really enjoy teaching 303 (not 300 took it w/him & ahh!) In DSCI 303 he allows creativity & is clear on his expectations. He loves class input and makes attendance mandatory. Also, make sure you do every assignment they really add up. This class is the perfect combination of subject and professor.

This class was so easy! I took it Fall 2012, but I heard the people who took DSCI 300 Spring 2013 got screwed. They said he restructured the class to have tons of work. They said DSCI 300 the semester before was easy?

Course has been re-changed to include assignments all of the time. Lots of work, but if you are interested in Dec Sci this is the course for you because he is great. But do expect to put in many hours to get a good grade on this complicated subject.

Class has been restructured!!! Midterm is a group project that takes no time at all. One test that you get the questions to before and a final that is a video. No need for the book at all! only negative is it is hard to sit through the class because not much goes on in class. Take DSCI 303 with him!

Prof Vargas was awewsome, helpful & understanding. Show up ON TIME. He provides study guides & tests are M/C. He keeps the class pretty entertaining w/ his enthusiasm, so I don't know why other people wrote crap. Our class liked him & he goes over the material & calculations you need to focus on. Definitely take his class f/ Ops Mgmt!

This teacher is amazing. Lot of bad comments last years, but he really changed this semester. He started grading on curves. Where he wasn't used to. He Asks students if they have any questions and offers study guides. Go to his office hours his really helpful. This is a real Operations Management Class.

WORST TEACHER I"VE EVER HAD!!! Not only is he disturbingly CREEPY, but he doesn't even make up his own lesson plan. He just takes the slides from the book (which you'll never use). If you're a minute late to class he'll lock you out! The guy needs to get a life. He plays favorites and even they hate on him. Stay away from this wierdo!
