First off, VERY harsh grader. Does well explaining in lecture and giving a heads up for whats on the exams. Go to the lecture! Understand conceptual concepts in depth, otherwise do not expect full credit for a question. Take full advantage of the book, his lecture slides don't go as in depth of what he expects you to know.

Dr. Ryzhov is a very nice man. He seems to genuinely care about his students. However, this is a very hard class. It's hard to know what you're getting in this class until the grade shows up on your transcript. Also, he uses an ACS exam for the final which focuses on different topics than his exams. That test alone dropped my grade a full letter.

Overall, he isn't a good professor. His accent makes him very hard to understand. His lectures are completely boring and very dry, and they are also all online so it's a pain to show up to class. Quiz's are online but nothing like what you learn in lecture, and the exams are hard, but not that bad if you study. Don't take this class.

Has a Russian accent and uses iclickers in class for quiz and attendance points. Very open to helping students and is always on top of his emailing, blackboard, and posting grades. Study hard for the tests, the curve saved the class from failing.

A very nice guy and has like a Russian accent or something. He is helpful and his chemistry review sheets are good but make sure you don't memorize them for the test because he'll change up the question to trick you. Kinda boring especially in that hot lecture hall but not that bad. I would take another class with him.

Victor is a great teacher, very dedicated and patient. He does not play ping-pong all that well and has a mid-western accent that is hard to understand if you are european or russian. I'd take his classes without any hesitation.

Explains things well, interesting enough, but for me it was very difficult to concentrate in a hot lecture hall with a subject i had no interest in whatsoever. He covers a lot of material so either show up or keep up in the reading.

I only had him come in to teach our review right before a big test and words couldnt describe how horrible this man was. I couldnt understand a word that he said, and he was extremely sarcastic and rude.

This is an excellent teacher! I failed my first two tests and I still liked this guy. He will do whatever it takes to try to get scores up, uses examples on tests from lectures, and wants you to do well. Alse he's very nice and will answer any questions you have.

Impossible to fail this class if you go. He gives a ton of examples and the practice exams were exactly the same as the real ones. His accent is a little difficult to understand, but did you think you were gonna get a professor that taught math or science that you could understand?

Intro Chem courses can be a bit dull (no, really?) but his seemed perfectly adequate. Great website for the class, including all lecture notes, practice course work, and outside resources. Good explanations, though sometimes he could write a little larger.

He is a very dedicated teacher for the introductory Analytical class. He's always willing to help and is able to explain concepts in way that can be understood. He has a Russian accent, but it doesnt' affect his comprehensibility. The tests are not that bad.

You don't have to go to class. I can't say much about the class itself since I went only a handfull of times. The notes were online and so were practice tests. If you can answer the practice tests with ease you will get an A on the tests.
