I have taken two of Bromleys classes and loved them entirely. She can come off tough and hardcore in the beginning but she is passionate about what she is teaching. She is very blunt but gets the point across and really opened my eyes. If you go to class and pay attention then her classes will be worthwhile. Just work hard and be willing to listen.

DO NOT TAKE IT!!! Bromley was the worst teacher I've ever had. She was loud, rude, and boring. The TA was Alexandra Born which didn't help. They made the class so dreadful that many, including myself had to dropped out. The marking is also unnecessarily harsh.

I have always prided myself on being a feminist and aware of gender issues. Professor Bromley sucked the passion out of me during the class. Rather than teach students that men and women are indeed equal, she seemed to provide reasons why women are better.

Extremely unprofessional prof, didn't show up for lectures but was very crabby with late students. I'm well read in feminism and gender studies but I found her too 2nd wave. For some reason the marking in this class was extremely hard, lost my scholarship. Coursepack was $200. As someone who loves women studies... worse course I've ever taken.

LOVED this class. Make sure you research your essays VERY thouroughly and think of every possible answer you can. She is extremely passionate & really focuses her essays on the student being absolutely objective - go above and beyond and you'll get an A! Exams were hard only because they're all essay questions.

The content she teaches is interesting. However, I didn't enjoy her as a prof at all. She thinks she is better than everyone, she is rude and mean. At first I respected her because she just seemed like a strong women with strong opinions, but as time went on I found that she was just plain mean. Will never take this class again.

She's is loud and rude and aggressive. But as long as you aren't afraid of a strong woman you'll be fine. Don't walk into class late though, she'll tear you apart. Classes are very interesting, she's very passionate. Marks are difficult but you'll do well if you research properly and email her for advice!

Overall, she is a good professor, her class material is relevant and interesting. Her course is a whirlwind though- From yelling at students for being late to being late herself the next week, and making up rules halfway through the summative project. For my emotional health, I will never take one of her classes again

Since when did "Canadian Studies" turn into every article/reading/assignment being related to the "oppression of women in Canada"? Took this as an elective, regretting it. Unless you agree with her views, you'll sink fast regardless of how well you can defend your point. 3 lectures this semester scraped because of feminist guest speakers on campus.

Vicki is a great prof. She is passionate about Canadian Studies. Although she is critical of Canada she supports her opinion with fact. I enjoy her class thoroughly and am disappointed so many students do not like her.

She's an aggressive feminist in that she pushes her opinions are views onto other women (and in some cases men). She's rude and loud, obnoxious and lazy. She based too much of her curriculum on negative aspects of Canadian history and culture, which was disappointing to me as a proud Canadian.
