Vikky kicks butt! she is honest with you and your work and pushes you in the right direction. My work developed significantly after my time with her. She is also a very generous teacher, always trying to supply you with materials out of her own pocket! An experience I wil never forget!

Vikky is a fantastic prof and I can't wait to take her classes in the future! She doesn't let you make mistakes by loudly nipping problems she finds in the bud and not sugar coating things. She's so helpful explaining exactly what you need to do differently. Fantastic for learning foundations before branching into styles!

Vikky is a fantastic prof. She has no tolerance for slackers so if you put effort into your work (you should this is art school) then you will do fine. She has a great sense of humor and genuinely cares about the students. Very knowledgable about film. She even brought us cookies! Appreciate being taught by someone as talented and helpful as her.

Two years ago I may have agreed with everybody on here about Vikky, however after having her as my photo prof for the last few years, I have to say she is rather sassy and helpful. She has specific expectations in regards to art- photography in particular. If you want to improve your work, I suggest take a class with Vikky! She grows on you.

People like to refer to her as blunt but that's just another word for rude. Other photo instructors offer constructive criticism, she just makes snide comments and jokes about students work. Sometimes she'll just say "yeah that's good" and wont explain whats working or what isn't.

I was terrified after seeing people's comments on Vikky the day before the class started. But the class actually turned out super great, I love her! People said she's mean and rude, which I didn't find that at all, that's just the way she talked. She's clear and extremely helpful.

First of all she is very rude and moody. Things have to be done her way or its wrong. And attendance is absolutely mandatory. She takes absolutely no excuse for lateness or absence. Her way of teaching made me question my career choice in art and how my art's worth is totally dependent on the teacher's taste and mood.

What a shock to have to come to class and listen to someone who clearly doesn't want to actually be helpful. If you aren't doing something her way, it's wrong. She is rude, condescending, and makes inappropriate comments constantly. Maybe she should get a job she actually enjoys.

I had her for first year photography and might have been interested in taking more photography classes but I didn't for the fear that I would have to take another class with her again. She was condescending and appeared to hate every minute of teaching the class. When I got my portfolio back there was food smeared on one of my best photo projects!

First semester was tough (140), alot of technical aspects were covered and you had no idea how you did until the very end. Moody and wasn't always the nicest if you annoyed her. Second semester(240) was great, honest and constuctive with her crits, but sometimes contradicted herself. I will take her in 340.

ahhh Vikky, I actually found her quite amusing. We got along so I enjoyed her class but dont piss her off or else that is the end of you. Get your work done, hand it in on time and dont say anything unless you are sure it is the right answer and you will succeed with flying colors. She is a riot you just have to tap into her sense of humour!!!!

I'm glad I ran into this website. Just a little comment from an alumni student who remembers when she first was hired at UVIC in the early 90's...she is just like alot of the VIS ART profs..lacks self-confidence, talent, and does not give a rats ass about the students. Let's be honest..alot of art profs are there for the cash/benefits.

I like Vikky's sense of humor & style. I believe she cares for her students deep inside. Never had problems w/ her in a long time. However, as the course progressed, I've come to notice she can be very moody & her attitude & comments can be cold & harsh at times. She often suggested very little to our works & instead told us to go figure- hello?!?
