Comment:
Vince knows his stuff, he knows how to teach it too, but the lecture material is just so dry. It gets to the point where you want to run out of the room because you can't take it anymore. Every lab/lecture. He always goes over the time limit by at least 5 mins and is impossible to reach by email. Marks fairly, even easy, but averages are LOW.

Vince is like a robot in the labs... like he's been giving the same lectures for 40 years straight. Maybe dry but gives you ALL the information you need in the most refined way possible. Makes assignments a BREEZE and he gives off positive vibes. Final exam is unrelated to labs in MIS311 but for assignments Vince is AMAZING

Never skip class if you can help it and try to talk at least once a class. Participation counts A LOT for this class and it's the reason why I did well. Start papers early, don't procrastinate because you won't have time to finish if you're taking 419 too. Find a partner with a good work ethic. Not a hard class just lots of work counting for little

Take MIS 311 with anyone but him. Goes over the most mundane details in labs but zips through the important things. Marking rubrics are obsess over the smallest things. Forgets to upload things on time. Ends class late because starts class late. Very condescending when you ask questions and won't wait for you to ask your entire question. A disaster

One of the worst classes I've ever taken. Tests are ridiculously hard and the class is full of big group projects. Marks given are way too little for the effort required. This is just like BUS 201, so make sure you get a group that's willing to work hard or don't bother with this class. Vince is a nice guy, but I would NOT recommend this class.

Each assignment require 10+ hours from me. Pick your partners wisely as you'll have to DEPEND on them. He constantly updates the assignments with as little as 2 days before the deadline. Push him to give you all the information as soon as possible. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE ASSIGNMENTS, START EARLIER! You can never really predict how much time you need.

Vince is a really enthusiastic prof talking about MIS and it really makes him a crying shame that everything else around him is god awful. He regularly starts class late. To make up for this he will keep talking past the endtime. In all my classes I've had with him he has never replied to a single email, talk to him in person or don't even bother.

He's an odd sort of guy. But he's super nice and loves MIS almost to a fault. I don't know why is so excited to teach this boring material. But he's helpful. Kind of odd. But nice guy. Did I mention he is sort of odd?

For the midterms and final basically memorize the notes exactly. Do that and you'll get an A. Assignments are pretty easy and easy to get 90% on all of them, by following the lab notes. Assignments are time consuming and sometimes very tedious but overall a good course, learnt a lot!

The guy's a MISITComputer Science genius. No one is more qualified to teach MIS courses than him. Super helpful with assignments (maybe a bit too helpful. You'll know what I mean when you have a lab with him). BUT, if you're looking for a GPA booster, look elsewhere. His exams are HARD and assignments are TEDIOUS.

He's a really good guy, and you can tell he really lives and breathes MIS. Honestly this class is really easy and stupid, and even though he was super excited every class, it was boring anyway. The labs were so easy it was almost insulting. For the midterm/final, MEMORIZE the lecture slides! They are almost pure regurgitation long answer questions!

Good lecturer. Hard to get ahold of, helpful when you do. First third of the course (SQL) is very useful; rest is not. Assignments are a lot of work but I never learned much from them. MT and especially final are totally random but the averages were low (mid/low 50s). Overall the course is more trouble than it's worth. Learn SQL on your own.

Vince is an excellent prof. (Probably one of my favorites) Very excited about the material which makes him interesting to listen to. He has real world experience + can help with any questions you have. Best time to see him is before/after class. Just make sure you read the text and you'll be fine. Also took him for 412 and will see him for 415 soon

Vince is a good prof and an overall nice guy. He is willing to help students where he can, but he isn't all to easy to get a hold of. He is definitely over committed, as he runs almost every MIS lab. 419 is a demanding class that is very hands on and time consuming but also very rewarding. If you thought the 413 project was big, you were wrong.

Close to the point of overly enthused about the material. Too bad it doesn't rub off on class. The class requires lots of work. Consists of weekly (annoying) quizzes and close to biweekly assignments, which are fairly easy. May throw in bonus marks if you attend class on certain days to send a message you may lose out by skipping.

well.. I didn't enjoy the class at all. And I am very glad that I don't have to take another MIS. Vince is good presentator but not a good prof. Not helpful. Speaks well but not teaches well. If you have to take MIS, pick the other guy.
