Vince is a nice guy, but his class has an insane workload, lots of reading, a 400-word discussion post once every week and two four-page papers due at the end of the four units. He also gets super behind on grading and pushes due dates back last minute. He took a month to grade our first two essays and rushed through the last one in a day.

Vince is a very nice man but is so disorganized and gets very behind on grading and responding to emails. The material is really great but there are heavy discussions each week and two papers due at the end of each unit. He does not provide clear feedback unfortunately and is confusing with expectations. I felt I tried way harder than I needed to

Vince is a wonderful human being. He cares, he makes great jokes and LOVES to tell stories. If you want to get the most out of your English class definitely take it with him. Show up and talk and you will get full points for the day. If you miss more than 3 classes he gives you opportunities to make them up. Only 4 papers (this includes the final).

Professor Gotera is a fairly nice guy. His teaching style is pretty "go with the flow", but he absolutely sucks at returning any papers/ grades to you. Our first paper took seven weeks to get feedback for and that was after serious begging from our class. He likes to make a lot of excuses and doesn't seem to care about the students needs over his.

Great guy, super unorganized. 4 tests, 8 pages each is all assigned. Schedule was very off due to his procrastination on correcting the tests. He's really funny, good discussion based professor. I'd be wary in taking this class unless he's committed to staying on schedule. Good perspective for course, interesting to see what happens in the future.

Vince is great. I had no idea how to structure a story or what the elements make good literary fiction before I took this class, but I learned a lot. You do 4 one-page exercises and then two full stories. He makes sure you're comfortable with workshopping. He is super nice, funny, and a pretty easy grader. I would take a class with his again.

I did not like going to his class. I wanted to go into writing for years and after one semester with him, I don't know that I want to anymore. He had a lot of criticism (and some good) but did not offer any suggestions as to how to fix the problems. Did not learn much more than I knew before class started. :(
