Comment:

Loved this class with Dr. Stewart. You'll be using the Norton, so if you don't like reading, I wouldn't recommend this class. Other than that, she gives out a regular amount of homework -- would probably only take me 1-2 hours if I wasn't so easily distracted all the time. Most of the homework is reading, the rest of it's as easy as pie.

She is the sweetest and most helpful professor I have met here at Roanoke College. There are a lot of quizzes but if you do the reading you will not have any problem passing them. If you have a problem with an assignment or even a personal problem she will listen and help you in whatever way she can. I would love to take another class with her.

The best professor I've had at Roanoke College. She would do anything to help a student and makes you feel like a peer rather than an inferior. I absolutely love her and would take every class with her if I could. Aside from being the best professor, she is so sweet and just a really great person.

Virginia Stewart is one of my favorite professors here at Roanoke College. The readings that she assigned us were usually good reads and her quizzes were straightforward. She's really welcoming and always put on good spirits for class. I would definitely recommend her!

Incredibly intelligent, very thoughtful and loads of fun, if you like talking about literature. She is very sweet and will probably charm you into taking a few quizzes or writing a longer paper than you really want to.

Didn't like her at all. I know everyone seems to love her, but she drove me up a wall. She's not willing to let someone with a completely different view have an opinion and it lead me to drop her class. Will not take a class with her again while I'm here if I can help it!

Virginia is the best teacher I've had at Roanoke. I'll take a class just because she's teaching it. She can make anything interesting and doesn't spend all her time lecturing. You sit in a circle and discuss the material. Your opinion matters as much as hers because she's genuinely interested in her students. I love Virginia!

She's the quintessential English teacher. She's sweet and intelligent and so wonderful you want to put her in your pocket and bring her home. She's willing to help, loves to have visitors during office hours, and likes chatting with students outside of class. Very helpful, very nice, great to talk to about anything, I'd take any of her classes.
