Great Teacher, very realistic grader, and is very understanding. He puts papers in front of the class and corrects the mistakes and points out mistakes many may have made.

AMAZING GUY! Scott is my favorite professor that I've had so far! He's absolutely hilarious, always joking around and making a very comfortable environment for the class. He has a great mind and always challenges you to think more deeply and participate in class. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Scott is a great professor. As far as arrogance goes, he doesn't actually take himself as seriously as he'd like you to think. Don't write him off before you give him a chance to teach you something! My only criticism is that he is kind of a writing genius and so he finds writing to be a lot easier than it actually is. But he will always help you!

Scott Olsen is a great teacher... If he likes you. Unfortunately, this man is the most arrogant teacher I have ever had. His ego is the size of a house. This is especially noticeable if you get him talking about any of the books he has written. In closing, Scott Olsen was my least favorite professor at Concordia, hands down.

scott runs an interesting class. good story teller and you can tell that he knows what he's talking about but hes not very good at teaching it. the workshops you run are very unhelpful because he gives no guidelines to what he is looking for. really a self taught class overall. nice guy, good writer, just not the best teacher.

Scott is the best. This is my favorite class I've had at Concordia. It doesn't really feel like a class because it's so fun and we rarely sit and listen to a lecture. He has lots of random stories, but they're always interesting and for a reason and you realize later what you learned from him just rambling. He makes you a better writer. He cares.

Scott is such a great prof for creative writing. Some people think the readings he assigns and his random stories are unnecessary and a waste of time, but I have already discovered a difference in the quality of my writing and the depth of my thinking because of them. He also genuinely care about his students, which is also a major positive!

His class was nothing that I expected it was going to be. We were supposed to do all these fun adventure things, but they all cost a lot of money to do. We do nothing but talk about books and then at the end of the semester have a lot of hard things to do. I hate this class. INQ 100

Scott was a fantastic prof, and he makes a great advisor too! His travel writing books that we read for class were very interesting. No tests in his class, and the papers were do-able. I would definitely take a class from him again, and I just might, being a writing major. Thanks for everything you do, Scott!!!!!!

Be prepared for a 40 page paper. Very fun class. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot about my own writing. 40 pages seems like a lot, but you'll be prepared.

Easily the most interesting class that I have taken at Concordia so far. The reading was intense but for the most part enjoyable. He is really passionate about his inquiry seminar. Try to participate in the activities- it really helps in class. Be prepared for the hardest paper ever though. The final paper is intense, but doable. You learn a lot.

Scott seems like a nice guy, but his attempts to be the "cool prof" just got annoying. His random swear words here and there were just annoying. Stop trying to be the awesome professor on campus. The work wasn't difficult, just tedious. He doesn't really explain how to write well, but just expects us to be able to do it, and how he wants it.

He is good as far as teaching, but doesn't care about people and is not at all understanding. In a bind I e-mailed him my final paper because I wasn't going to make it on time and he refused to read it and gave me an F.
