I learned after the 1st exam to take really good notes (slides are not detailed..) and not to bother with the textbook so much. Not the most exciting lecturer (talks very slowww) but I got over that and found micro to be pretty interesting. Watch the extra credit videos, easy points.

Has open book quizzes but beware of his exams they are difficult and are worth 40% of your grade. He takes his time to teach ...I mean realllllly takes his time . Overrall I enjoyed lab . You must have a lab book the quizzes are open book and are a timed at 4 mins.

TAKE NOTES! His stories ARE relevant. Rather than seeing his slow speech as boring, be glad & use the time to TAKE NOTES, old-school style. He is a traditional professor; not bad, just not handing you all the test answers on slides. There's nothing on tests he didn't say in class. People who think that were zoning out. Stay awake and WRITE.

The worst professor Ive had in a long time. You learn nothing from his lectures. Be prepare to teach yourself elsewhere to be able to "pass" his exams. Exams don't even include the material he has on the slides. He is tricky, and makes his question out of random areas that were not the major focus of the chapter.

Professor Jenssen is a nice guy but his lectures don't really cover everything that the test cover. It is usually a 50 question test with 5 extra credit questions from his videos. He gives out slides that are very broad so you must make your own notes. He goes until the last minute of class and talks about his life more than bio. You have to study!

first off ... he taught us nothing before he got sick and missed half of the semester. we had another prof cover who actually taught us something. when he came back, he gave us 3 exams which were really hard because he doesn't teach us.

He's a good professor and if you pay attention in lecture you will pass the exams. A lot of his exam questions are his own and not random test bank questions. The extra credit helped. Be prepared to read a lot and to take notes. You can easily pass the entire course simply by sitting in the lectures and not skipping class like so many students did.

Notes! Notes! Notes! Take good notes. If you can get past the whole "septic tank" story he's pretty cool. He's very knowledgeable and willing to help. His tests aren't too tricky but you must pay attention to them. I think he's fair overall.

he's very nice but hes pretty bad as a lecture prof. drags on about everything. for lab if u question anything about the quizes he doesn't like it at all and some ques can be confusing. they are open book. his lab class you just feel all over the place he used one entire lab showing us chemical bottles. some handouts but you must take good notes

He is the worst professor ever. His tests are extremely difficult and I am an A student. All he talks about is the war and he spent a full class talking about his septic tank. I got a C but only because I had a 94 in lab. Do not take him. I learned nothing.

Best thing about this class is most of the Questions on the Tests are straight from the CDrom HE IS EASIER THAN RAO, But spare yourself, and take a different Lab teacher. USE THE ONLINE MICROBIO PLACE, PAY THE MONEY FOR THE ACCESS CODE AND GET AN OLD EDITION OF THE BOOK (9th version is best)!!! This will save you TONS of money. Good luck!

This professor is horrible! I took his class over the summer, he taught nothing! Talked about bs the whole time. He also had a mental breakdown, and left class in tears when a student asked for the test to be altered or postponed after he had cancelled the previous class. Totally unprofessional.

all i learned this semester is about prof. jensens trips to europe & florida, his septic tank and everything about it, and his ungreatfull lime dissease in his private place. He teaches but nothing bout microbio, u have to teach ur self n read the book, his tests are hard, but he gets most of the questions from the book. good luck if u have him

Absolutely BORING. Loves to talk about his personal life alot. His powerpoints don't usually cover the chapter thoroughly. It is helpful to use the CD since he likes to use some of the questions on the exam. Take note on is boring movies for extra credit.
