Comment:

Sometimes seems one way and then another. Has knowledge, so pick his brain. Also, has many seminars and receptions you can attend. When co-taught with other teachers did very well. Better that he co-teaches and let the peers or teaching assistants do the grading, chatting and working with students instead.

Too full of himself and you cannot even ask questions without him making a big wave. Loves to create drama. Talks and listens to himself. If you have another viewpoint , forget it. Self-absorbed, melodramatic, and egotistical. Cannot properly support some of the information which is not in his area and this appears to indicate ignorance.

He loves the sound of his own voice. And thinks you must as well, judging by the way you can hear him postulating blocks away. He thinks he's God's gift to philosophy. But see if you can slip him up, hilarious!!!

My least favourite of the three profs. Grades fairly, but I taught myself the material! Most pompous person I ever met, and argued every single lecture with the other professors about even petty things, sometimes taking over their lecture for a half hour or more. Read completely from the slides so quickly my notes were mediocre at best as a result.

He's a brilliant nutcase. He's the kind of man you want to learn from, but keep your soul from. He expects you to work hard, and he loves questions. I don't like him, but I want to take classes from him, because he's brilliant. Don't be afraid of him and work hard, and he will reward you with wisdom and grades. Just don't expect to be buddies.

Dr. Hankey is one weird, weird, genius. Egotistical, but that's part of the fun. My favourite Prof to date. Enthusiastic, texts well chosen, lectures informative, helpful in recommending further research -- goes off on wonderful tangents from time to time. One con: his eccentricity interferes with his objectivity, sometimes.

Prof.Hankey's work offers a great contribution to the understanding of philosophy, theology, doctrine and the development of its appreciation from the Patristics to the Scholastics to present considerations. Few scholars can communicate the meaning of both the greek and latin texts of these works to be able to assess this development accurately.

he is clearly brilliant but lets his ego get in the way of actually teaching his class in a way that is clear...obvioulsy does not care about his undergraduate classes...this is unfourtunate b/c if he calmed down and acted like a normal prof his students would be able to gain from his mind, instead of being confused... too bad
