Comment:
I had Dr. Sossin for Neur310, and I thought he was actually quite clear, and made an obvious effort to both pare down the material and to engage the class. His questions on the final were tricky for sure, but he ultimately mostly tested the major concepts taught. People seem to dislike him in Psych, but for a more molecular class he was good!

Comment:
Wayne Sossin may be the most unclear and disorganized professor at McGill. Teaching a PSYC course from the perspective of biochemistry is not helpful nor appropriate. When he should have been talking about actual behaviour and neural correlates, he spends all his time on specific molecules, which he explicitly says are not linked to the behaviour!

Comment:
Difficult concepts but doesn't explain them well. Leaves students with lots of confusion. His exam questions are very hard. The questions expect from the students more than the quality of his delivered lectures SHOULD expect. If you can't teach the concept well, you shouldn't make up difficult questions. That's just not fair.

This professor doesn't want to be here. He gives absolutely zero effort towards lectures, skips out super early, and is impossible to understand. If he would never "teach" again, it would be doing the whole of humanity a giant favor.

Probably the most confusing prof I've had at McGill. The first part of the course was taught by Britt who presents all of the material in a really organized and clear way. Sossin's lectures could not have been more different. I'm in arts Psych and had to google almost everything and teach it to myself whereas I understood all of Britt's material.

Sossin is a HORRIBLE lecturer. He maes absolutely no sense when he explains concepts and his slides make no grammatical sense whatsoever. I had to rewatch some lectures 3 times and still dont understand. Class is good as a whole though, awesome material. Britt taught the first half and he is amazing.

WORST PROF EVER. Words cannot begin to explain my feelings. I had to google EVERY.SINGLE.THING from his transgenic technology lecture. He is SO unclear and his slides are absolutely useless. Don't buy the course pack nothing is included. Better yet, DONT TAKE THIS CLASS ITS AWFUL. (pre-midterm material is fine it was taught by someone else)

Well...he taught us 4 lectures in total. The third lecture on Aplysia was a horror! He was very organised and clear about his material for the 1st, 2nd, and 4th lecture, but for some unknown reasons, he seemed to not be able to express himself clearly on the third lecture. I spent 4h listening to the recording of 1.2h lecture.

HORRIBLE!!! All the studying I did for his section was for nothing. His section on the exam is just pure evil. And he covered 16 questions out of 58 on my final. Just TERRIBLE!!!

I don't mind if you are disorganized or you don't know your stuff very well..But seriously, can you at least pass your college English test before teaching? The slides are totally none sense, filled with grammar errors and spelling mistakes.. I mean.."two cells are in one cell in two vesicles"..Does that make any sense to you?

I liked him! His section was definitely challenging, but I think it's useful for Psychology students to learn some of the basics in molecular biology. His questions were way fairer than Sylvia Cox's, and he's a genuinely nice guy. Seemed to want us to do well.

He purposely makes his questions hard. I didn't know multiple choice questions could get this hard, even harder than type II questions for PHGY 210. Do yourself a favour and don't take this course if you don't have to.

I found his section/research very interesting. For that reason, Sossin is one of my favourite Psych profs in McGill. He can explain everything but rectification really well! I would have to agree with the last comment, Sossin's questions on the final weren't any harder than Leyton's, but Leyton gave an easier midterm.

Not so bad... He might not be the best teacher but he knows the material pretty well. His exam questions weren't that hard, actually Leyton's seemed a bit harder. Overall I enjoyed the second half of the course taught by Sossin a lot more than Leyton's half.

Incredibly condescending and unhelpful. He claims that he makes exam questions really hard to make sure you understand the concepts, but he can't explain them. Bad, just bad.

People!!! Don't ever take his class!!! He'll give you**** attitude if you go and see him in his office for asking questions. His materials are really hard and very demanding. Even TA said that she really feels so sorry for us!! Anyway, Sossin's class notes aren't that good.

So boring! If you want to go listen to Aplysias (sea slugs) for an hour this is the class for you. He is boring and the lecture's aren't recorded and the readings are brutal. The notes are so unhelpful. The worst part is that he knows all this and he knows he's going to make the exam hard, but he does it anyways. Terrible prof. TERRIBLE!
