Comment:

Took his online class (BUS 381 MIS) for summer 2017 semester. He's a tough grader and he does give you a lot of homework. It's your responsibility to make sure you keep up with the schedule, otherwise, no late homework is accepted. You may need the book for the class because some of the stuff he talks about is in the book.

This professor does not know the material himself, let alone know how to teach it to others. He is difficult to understand, does not seem to cover needed information required for tests, does not teach the concepts of bldg functions, expressions and arguments. He is not teaching at a 100 level or covering needed material.

Comment:

Insane amount of work for an 8 week summer class. Get ready for end-of-chapter questions, business cases, and quizzes due every 4 days. If you can't use Access or Excel very well you're out of luck. Must post on discussion board 3 different days for 1 topic or you won't receive full points. He also takes points away at any opportunity. Beware.

Li is a soft spoken little guy who is fantastic. If you need it, he WILL be there for you! I have emailed the guy several dozen times, met him during office hours and even spoke over BB. He will help you learn the material if he knows you really want to. I wish that many of my other profs were as good as him. FYI, I am not a paid spokesperson lol

Finds any possible opportunity to take points away. His English is hardly understandable. Lectures are pointless. The class is pointless and the University ought to be more critical of his performance.

He gives ridiculously large group assignments that are expected to be done by the end of class and then grades them like a full term project. He assumes that you know how to use access and other programs even if you have never taken a class on them. His lectures are pointless to be at because they don't teach you anything.

He's a good instructor, but you have to pay close attention to understand his lectures. He does assign group works at the end of class, and if you miss 1 group work you can't make it up. Book is highly recommended for his class. I had to wait a month to get my copy since it's custom made by him. I did learn some new stuff in MS Office though.

Terrible. From day one with a custom textbook that will set you a couple hundred (and no you can't find it online or used), to being an over tough grader with poor direction Weiqi Li should not be teaching into level classes.

Horrible prof. Not helpful at all, and when his tutor never answered my emails Li just shrugged and said not his problem. He doesn't teach you anything, just expects you to know how to work excel and access. I never had any access classes and he basically told me I was lying.

Very difficult to understand, because his english is broken. Offers very little assistance on lengthy and difficult group project. Our group spent 50+ hours on it and received almost no help. To make matters worse he creates very large groups which are hard to manage when everyone is on different schedules. Avoid him at all costs.

The bulk of the class is about learning the basics of creating excel spreadsheets. However, he doesn't show you how and the tutor is just as bad as he is. If you're good at excel, you may not have problems but I would still advise you to take another instructor. Btw, he doesn't speak english very well, beware.

BEWARE: Weiqi is an ULTRA CRITICAL Grader. The assignments were hours upon hours of busy work and I have not learned a thing! This course made me consider leaving UofM Flint and going to a school where I might gain some useful knowledge. BUS 381 with Weiqi is a soul-sucking experience!

the worst thing that I ever had is taking a class with this man, I don't know how's the school keeping someone like him to teach unclear and not helpful and what u take in class is different that ur assignments he takes points away from u from a small mistake

horrible, monotonous, boring, the professor has a thick accent which makes him difficult to understand. lectures are irrelevant to material. Far too much homework, several hours a week at least. Group projects are a nightmare as well. Take online if you can, do not take on campus.
