The best teacher I've had in the telecom department so far. If you have to chance to take a class with him then do it. Makes everything as interesting as possible and keeps the class fun. Not the easiest teacher (or class) but you learn a lot and he is always willing to help out students who show that they are working hard.

THE MISTA! I feel bad for anyone taking RTV3K without Mista Al. He is hillarious & knows his stuff, & has the best slideshows I've ever seen. He does an awesome job grabbing the attention of the class & explaining the material, & can relate to pop culture so you learn it well & laugh. It's too bad he couldn't get Jenny, it's all Ben Afleck's fault

Look, the guy's funny. Besides that, nothing great. I don't have anything against him (got my A), but despite "trying so hard" not to inject his liberal politics, he does. But what's new, right? The guy's bitter about his hometown of New Orleans, so I guess he has what he considers a good reason. Still, does start to get on your nerves.

mista al is the best prof. i've had in college yet. class was like going to watch a stand up comedian, it was that good, and he made the material so interesting that it is not hard to remember for the tests. don't buy the book, you won't need it. he is awesome and you should definitely take his class

Best teacher I have EVER had at UF. The class grade was based on 4 (incredibly) easy tests, in which the lowest test grade did not count. He knows his stuff and teaches it VERY well. I never did any reading and missed a few classes, but still received an "A." Take notes (or get from WebCT) because the tests are ALL from them.

This prof is awesome! i totally digged him...His lectures are relevant and interesting...he makes the whole class period fun. I even brought friends to class thats how interesting it was! His tests can be a lil hard so make sure you know your stuff...other than that...this is a sweet class. I hope to TA for him one day! Either that or marry him!

Mista Al is the coolest! His tests aren't always the easiest, but if you study hard you can do well. He makes learning fun and entertains you every class period. I think that a lot of teachers could learn something from the way he teaches class. He actually makes you want to go to class. Highly recommended!

Mista Al is a great proffes! He's still young so he hasa heart. You WILL laugh EVERY class with a new music video, song, or the slide shows. He really knows how to keep the class' attention and is not afraid to admit if he doesn't know the answer to something. But study HARD for his test, the T/F will get you everytime. And go to office his hrs!

Comment:

A great professor who makes class humorous and interesting. Very reasonable tests and uses textbook minimally. Four tests, one drop. He's knowledgeable about contemporary culture and is genuinely funny. I have gained a tremendous understanding of telecommunications for just one course. I actually looked forward to his classes.
