I have to say the guy knows his stuff and is very passionate about what he teaches. The only thing bad about him is that in all practicallity, I'm in the class to get a good grade and he doesn't specify what is important and what is not. So you have 50 pages of notes by exam time and have no clue where to start and what to ommit. Otherwise good.

After reading all of the other opinions, I'm am very shocked. Prof. Pries was very hard to comprehend what he was talking about, and he grades incredible hard. He expects your "rough drawing" to be perfect and if it is slightly off he marks it wrong. He may be a nice guy, but we never get to know any of these lecture prof.

the second hardest professor i had... makes you earn your grade and expects more out of his students and pushes them to be better... not the least bit a pushover like lesko. (who isn't a bad guy, but all his classes are too easy)

Comment:
One of the professors in the freshman seminar class. He was definitly my favorite. He knows his stuff and has visited places all over the world and shows his slides in class which makes it interesting. Clearly explains all the concepts that you need to know. Take him if you have the chance.
