His class is difficult however he is a great teacher, if you listen and do extra credit i promise you will be fine. Don't skip class because he doesn't let you work on essays outside of class. He's funny, keeps it real, and he will help you become a better writer.

Easy if you come to class & do extra credit. His class can be quite stressful because he's a tough grader & you can't take your papers out of class. You must correct your graded papers. Doing the extra credit, copying pages from the textbook, really helps. If you can't stand an adamant white elderly Trump supporter RUN AWAY FAST!

He has old "methods" that he swears by but they actually just make things worse for students. You cant take your papers out of his classroom, so you can't get additional help in the writing center. He does lectures but he spends most of the time talking about the boy scouts you learn nothing. Don't take his class.

A lot of people do not like Mr. Reed. It's because he is a tough grader and too many people here want an easy grade. I am a far better writer because of his class, and it will help me tremendously when applying and writing essays for nursing schools. He drops your 4 lowest writing grades out of 10. Must go to class to pass. I took summer semester.

Professor Reed is so sweet! He's pretty funny and he makes him class so easy if you just listen to the lecture. He lets you use notes on vocab quizzes but he times them. Class is pretty laid back, I would definitely take him again.

All the writing is done in class hes a good teacher but an extremely tough grader hell help you with your writing but most people would rather just pass and move on without too much difficulty. His lectures are long but interesting. He loves snickers and KC Donuts. He's a tough grader but that helps one to not make the same mistake. It has been the hardest class I have taken but i would take him again.

I was worried after reading a lot of these reviews, but the class was pretty simple. Professor Reed is a nice guy and makes class enjoyable. He is a tough grader, but he makes it pretty hard to fall behind. His quizzes are easy and the only paper assigned was pretty easy, too.

Professor Reed deserves more credit than the reviews on this site give him. He's a tough grader, but his feedback is what helped improve my writing. He really is a nice guy, and he's actually pretty funny. His class is not an easy A, but if you enjoy writing and want to improve grammatically, take him! I'm taking him again for English Comp 2.

Mr. Reed needs to leave. His class is the worst thing I've had to sit through. He will make up his own context for words, even if the opposite context is given. He spends five minutes teaching and twenty minutes telling a stupid story. He won't accept that the world has begun to change. I'm sorry if you have to take him. Worst teacher ever.

I enjoy going to this professors class. If you do not come to class you WILL fail. He tells you exactly how he wants his paragraphs or themes written. It's not so much about the content of your work, just following directions. There's no reason at all to fail. He gives you extra credit on every assignment. I wish I could take him again!

Mr. Reed makes you work really hard, but it's totally worth it. I feel like I learned so much this semester. I have a new appreciation for poetry and I feel confident that I can write a good research paper now. My spelling and grammar improved tremendously. He challenges his students, and he can seem a little scary, but he's really a good guy.

When I first started this class, I felt lost. I almost gave up. But, after several lectures, Professor Reed proved that he was there to help whenever I needed it. As an ESL student, I often had to ask him to repeat, or explain, and he did it happily, without judging me or getting irritated. He gave me his full attention, even outside of class

He has a strict grading criteria which is different than many English teachers I have seen. It is required that you write in class (no outside work, EVER!) and you are graded based on your hand written papers. If you misspell words, you lose 5 points out of 100 per misspelled words. This class requires you to learn like you would without a teacher.

Personally I would not take his class again nor would I recommend him. He tries to be funny, but honestly is just rude. He is a tough grader, I normally can make decent enough grades on papers to get an A, but even if you are a good writer do not expect anything higher than a C on any assignment. This class is much to be desired.

Do NOT take this class!!!! I am an A student and currently have all A's except in here which I got a C. He explains what you did wrong on your essays but literally doesn't give you a chance to fix it or extra credit. Very tough grader. If you're looking for an easy way to get an A don't take this class you will definitely have to work hard!!!

Do NOT take his courses. He's not very helpful. He's very confusing because all he ever talks about are donuts and his diet. He hardly ever teaches and he's very VERY old fashion. When you get your paper back, he makes you correct it and turn it back in. Overall, I did NOT enjoy his class.
