I highly recommend not taking this class. Tests are unreasonable and many times what is on the test was not shown in the textbook or powerpoints.

I took the online course and it was a good experience. My ArtsLab is only for extra credit, textbook is needed (rent). The tests are very hard and not much time is given. If you submit all your work you will pass they really aren't that difficult they just need to meet the criteria, if you want an A then extra credit is probably necessary.

She is very nice and attentive but the material was ridiculously hard and one slip up can cost you your whole grade. I am an A/B student and with paying the $70 for extra credit, I barely barely got a C. Good Luck.

The best teacher I had this semester I loved going to class and learning about film photography, I grew as an artist and was pushed to do better and better each project. Great environment and a great professor!!

The online class was the fastest and most hellacious 5 weeks of my life. I literally never stopped doing photo homework. Prof. not hard to reach but class hard to pass. Test format was weird, destroyed my grade in the beginning. STUDY WELL OR FAIL. Extra credit the only thing that saved me. Probably a better class in person but DO NOT TAKE ONLINE!!

Very awesome professor. Completely organized, so there aren't any surprises when it comes to what's due and when. She also explains everything in detail before you even turn in anything, plus there's extra credit. In short, it's really hard to fail this class. Do the work, and you'll pass.

Prof. Wendy is such a chill professor. Very relatable, teaches a little high school, but not in a bad way. Helps students, really cares about students. Wish I tried harder could've gotten an A

Got an A but I worked HARD for it. Took this class online over the summer. Reading the textbook and her powerpoint slides are required to pass. I found this class interesting. I learned a lot and DBs are fun. Go to Getty Museum for 25 pts EC (and a page of essay and proof of evidence that u went there) I was gonna get a B but the EC saved me.

Interesting class - learned a lot about the history of photography. Didn't need the book, all power point lectures. Read them thoroughly and you'll pass all the tests. A few of the questions about certain photos were tough. Extra credit to go to a museum was cool :)

Tips to get an A: use of textbooks and her powerpoint lectures, long papers for assgnmnts (doesn't matter if it's wrong as long as it is looong; 7-9pages; add pictures or etc), do xtra credit on the 1st week of the class so it wont pile you up, WRTE DOWN NOTES from her ppoint 4 ur own use, USE HER STUDY GUIDES per chapter. Got 9071000. I SURVIVED!

Grab all the extra credit as possible as you can! I got an A because of those. Her "review questions" would made you stay all nightday in approximately 2-3 days to finish them all. It doesnt stop der, there were DB and 2 responses and tests. So take this IF YOURE PLANNNG TO GET JUST ONE CLASS IN A SEMESTER. She grades easy IT JUST HAS 2 BE LONG.

Class is hard but not impossible. Probably the most frustrating class I've ever taken. Lectures are so vague, like reading someone's notes. Hardest part is the weekly "review questions" that are gradeno grade. The tests include questions that aren't on the "review questions" or even study guide, so if you think you've studied enough you haven't.

Weekly you are assigned to ans 24 questions. You should really put a lot of infos there. I spent 3 days in a row to read, answer and PROOFREAD. But it was all worth it. Im kinda disappointed on how the tests were given, there are 40 questions and you are only given 30 mins to answer... SO UNCOOL! C'mon it wasn't enough and u can't go back to that #

1010 do not recommend. Friend and I worked on an assignment together, had the same answers just worded differently. I turned my assignment in first. My friend got partial credit and I got no credit. In the teacher's comment section, she put the same comment saying the answers were too thin. How did we get different grades with the same answers

I am currently taking the winter class & she sucks! Everything is credit no credit. Her lectures are not detailed enough, & her review questions are super hard! I am not exaggerating. Just because I didnt write a paragraph for each of the 25-30 questions she gave me NO credit. I wasted 10 hours of my life working on the 4 of those for nothing!

I took the five week class over Winter and I did not think it was too difficult. Her powerpoint lectures were very clear and had all the information you need for the tests. Only 5 multiple choice exams, 5 review question assignments, and 5 discussion boards. She also offers EC! Exam questions are right from the powerpoints. Take her online class!

I took the fast-paced (and I emphasize FAST-PACED) 5 week course in January of 2014. The teacher was not clear in the syllabus about the introductory discussion post. Exams (or "quizzes") were very difficult. All of the information you need is in the Powerpoint lectures she provides. Don't buy the book! No general question discussion board either..

Wendy is one of the most helpful teachers I have had. She expects you to come to class and be there for the days that the projects are explained and due. Attendance is mandatory on the days that grading is on because it is in class discussion style. Overall a great class and a lot of fun.

Took B&W Photography. Very helpful, easy to communicate with. Lots of ways to contact by (even cellphone) and always responded quickly. A warning: This class is expensive. Be prepared to drop somewhere between $150-$300 on materials. Wendy is able to keep those costs down by efficiently explaining the processes and helping you all along the way.
