OH my gosh! I am glad its over. He is retiring. Make sure if you took this class. You check over ALL YOUR GRADES!! He gave me a C in the class. I knew from busting my butt all I needed was a 60 to still make a B. I made higher than that. He made calculations problem with the participation grade. I would have not passed with out TA. She should teach

Comment:
This class was so ridiculous for just taking it as a CI. I spent more time studying for this class than ANY of my upper divisions. I do think I will pull off a low A or high B, only because the TA held review sessions for the test. Wertz is a great guy and he wants you to learn, its just not something that sits well with your brain.

Wow, talk about boring. I dozed off every time this guy lectured. He needs to give up the ghost and just retire. His lectures were pretty unclear and bland. Definitely go to the study session that covers his material, if you do, you'll do fine on the test over it.

Wertz is a good guy, has a head on his shoulders, but just has trouble conveying information. If you plan on taking him, you're gonna have to learn how to teach yourself and/or cheat. This said, I'm still taking symbolic logic next semester. Call me a masochist, but I think Wertz might have some intellect under that topsoil of confused agedness.

(Graduate) Not what I expected. More on stories of various tribes/loctations. Read 5 -6 stories and write 1-pg paper for each class. Great class discussions but he should have taught more. Hard to read prof. Course had great oral stories, but we had to read from book that was translated to English so you lose some. Lacked hard facts about tribes.

Thank God for our TA, Doug Owings. I would've been absolutely lost without him. Wertz is the counterrexample to any arguments for the tenure system. He is the**** in the TCU Philosophy Dept. punchbowl.

This professor is personable and tries to be helpful, but he epitomizes the definition of a Ph.D. as one who "learns more and more about less and less until he knows everything about nothing at all." Not a difficult grader, but you will know les

I don't think he knows how to teach. He is also lazy. He makes the TA do everything for him. I wish I had his job so I could just show up work 3 or 4 problems on the board incorrectly then leave.

Clarity? He's as opaque and boring as a brick. I had him for Intro to Phil, which is team-taught by all of the philosophy department. Probably the worst teacher of all of them.

1. If Wertz teaches logic you won't learn squat. 2. Wertz teaches logic. 3. Therefore, you won't learn squat. (I took Hestir, unlike my unfortunate friends!)
