My 2nd class w/ Hankins: Don't buy the book, use the PLAN 3000 book instead. Dropped my lowest test grade (14%), replaced w/ final. Same deal w/ papers, you turn them in until you get an A. All Hankin's finals are previous tests, which he gives back, no reason NOT to take optional finals. Got an A in this after that bad test! Take Hankins!

Took Hankins twice this fall07. Excellent prof. Will work w/ you. If you goto class & just pay attention you will do well. He practically gives his test out on review days & lets you re-turn in papers so you're sure to get an A on those. Only draw back: grades on 7 point scale & after 3 absenses it takes 1 pt off your final, that dropped me to a C

This guy is awesome. Old fashioned, but as predictable as can be. Gives curves on tests, and tests are not that hard if you come to class and come to his review sessions. Will drop lowest test grade, and tests are short answer. Gives extra credit. Awesome guy, very helpful, and the best one in the department. We love Hankins!

Excellent teacher in my opinion. Has worked in the field for years, and knows what he's talking about. He genuinly cares about making sure materials are understood as they are covered. Great guy, it's a shame he's retiring after next semester.

Old fashioned, stern, serious minded. His lectures are detailed, and while he does follow the text, you need to take a LOT of notes. His tests are very fair: they follow his study guide to the letter. He is earnest, sincere, fair and expects hard work!

He is a complete weirdo, but funny. He goes by the book, doesnt really care if you go to class or not, and give you practically everything you need to know they class before the exam...or at least he did with Musc. And he loooves his black/gray clothes!

Hankins has been teaching for a while and I believe he is just about to retire. He teaches directly out of the book and most of the time, he can be a little overwhelming. He always tells you practically everything to study for on the exam.
