Comment:
The exams are not difficult if you have a decent understanding of the content, which most students don't, because the way he teaches the content is confusing and over complicated. I didn't go to class for the second half of the semester, looked up the homework on Chegg, but thanks to exam curves (and dropping one exam) got a halfway decent grade

His class material was difficult, but the exam questions weren't as hard. If you could actually study his lecture notes you would find better derivations of equations than those given in the book. His homework problems were hard, but if you could re-do his derivations in lectures you would conquer all of them.

Johns is hilarious, he is very helpful outside of class but his lectures tend to be entirely derivation-base, a stark contrast to a textbook with almost none. Don't expect an easy A from him, but he's probably your only option anyway.

Good class. Material is difficult but the grading is easy, since hw is 30% and the lab is 25%. Tests are also quite easy compared to the material covered in lectures. He is very helpful, willing to answer your questions for 30 minutes after the lecture.

The material is VERY DIFFICULT but absolutely fascinating. If you are not interested in quantum physics, you should avoid this class. He is knowledgeable and very helpful in or outside class. Tests are impossibly tough but he curves them. Also HW's are 40% of the grade.

He's a great guy and one of the most helpful professors you'll probably ever get, but his homework is hard and it's very difficult to follow along with him in class. None of us would had survived if he hadn't passed out his lecture notes each day before class. 225 is just naturally impossible though, so it's best to get a helpful prof like him.

Very tough class. The material is very difficult, you will only understand if you really try. Most people had no clue what was going on in his lectures. His homework assignments and takehome tests were very difficult, but you can do well if you spend a lot of time on it. Most students had an A or a C/D.

Doc Johns is funny and engaging, but his lectures sometimes are only derivations of equations given in the textbook. He really knows his stuff and is really helpful.

He posts sample exams online, which proved the most helpful for studying. MP assigments are time consuming and may not even apply to the lectures or the tests. He is very very stingy with partial credit. Lectures sometimes are also completely useless.

this guy is bill nye, hilarious in class... actually kept me awake during a 9 am class. talked about being stoned and is kind of strange at times. his tests are much easier if you go to his review sessions so go! masteringphysics sucks, but he'll give you the answers if you go to his sunday night reviews. overall, a good choice fro the class

all right professor. a little too blind to what goes on in class and how much cheating happens. Sometimes the tests come out of left field and you have no idea what is going on. a genuinely nice guy, though.

Dr. Johns is nerdy, and quirky, but I switched into his 8am lecture with the 7pm lab just to get out of another more "well known" professor and never once regreted it. He ended up being a pretty alright guy, and I dont even like physics.

This is a good guy grade A. Compared to what i hear about other teachers, this guy is fun and quirky. He is kinda a nerd and isn't clear in lecture, so i skipped about 1/3 of lectures, but get him nonetheless. he gives you candy after you hand in your test.
