This is an easy class but really boring. The test questions come straight from the readings, so be prepared to read many scholarly articles. Attendance is counted sometimes because he uses a chip system, but an A can probably be attained regardless of whether you show up or not. Just do the readings.

Boring class but just studying the powerpoints before the tests allowed me to get a B+ in the class while only showing up to class for test days. Drops your lowest test grade and lowest homework.

Very good teacher, very intelligent. Work is layer out right for you all you have to do is spend time studying the material he gives you. Tough work but not difficult to memorize and get a B if you are just an average student. Tip: Go to class, this man knows what he's talking about and just hearing him explain it goes a long way.

Comment:

Moore is super smart and very well respected in his field. Misses a lot of class and sends grad students. Seems to be way above (smarter) than the material, so it's easy for him and a ton of people didn't understand. Go to office hours!

Will is absolutely phenomenal. He is one of the most intelligent professors at FSU. He requires A LOT of reading, so be ready for class discussion and tests based off of it. His only grades are exams and attendance, but they aren't hard if you skim the readings and pay attention in class.

Cool guy. Is pretty interesting to listen to, but because I like to take notes off of power points and not lectures, so it was difficult for me. Participation was random selection and 40% of the grade. 2 exams open everything but still very difficult. Would recommend if you go to class and do the readings. No textbook, only articles on Blackboard.

One of the worst classes I have had at FSU. He goes off on rants that are not related to the class. YOU HAVE TO READ, it is essential otherwise you will FAIL. Rude over email, overall did not enjoy his class. Had to study a lot for his tests.

Professor Moore is an amazing teacher. His course is challenging BUT it is very interesting and well worth taking. He is super nice and was always willing to help me when i didn't understand things. Great Professor! Will take him again!

I was reading through my old textbook today and felt compelled to post this. I had Dr. Moore as an undergrad in 2002-03. He was a great professor who taught with passion and clarity, and a downright decent person, who was genuinely interested in his students, their educations, and their futures. Take his classes, go by at office hours, and learn.

Even though the material was really hard, Dr. Moore was always ready to help. Probably one of the most helpful professors I have ever had. Go to office hours and he will go through the material as many times as you need. GREAT PROFESSOR.

This class is basically equivalent to Intro to Statistics with minimal calculating. Class itself is boring but the guy keeps it interesting with his peculiar humor and swearing. Does miss class A LOT because of conferences and his substitutes do not cut it.Oh yeah, the textbook is pretty confusing too.

Well.... I took this class thinking it would be open notes open book however, this semester things changed!! This class sucks!!! I never knew what was going on half the time because it involved a TON of Statistics... which i never took!! So you could imagine me understanding stuff in here Moore is a wonderful teacher the class itself SUCKS!!!!!

This class is no longer open note except for the final. Very tough class. I suggest taking statistics before you tackle this beast. Professor Moore is really willing to help you though. I highly suggest stopping by his office if you don't understand the material. He really cares about his students that are trying. Go to the basement for tutoring.

If you need to take research methods take Professor Moore. His tests are open notes, laptops and they're all multiple choice. Still show up and take notes, you'll need them for the test, he tries his best to make the class interesting when the material gets dry.

Go to class and you will be fine. Even though all of the tests are open note/internet, do not rely strictly on that. He is a good teacher and the exams are easy if you attend lecture. You will have to work to get an A, but it is definitely possible.

Exam questions are tricky. Correct answer is that discussed in class. Underestimating the open book exam may not work out so well. Exams test understanding not memorization. Grading: 4exams/ lowest exam grade dropped/ final is cumulative. Professor is helpful,& very, and knowledgeable. I recommend the course.

From the syllabus intro to his dialectic in class, Prof. Moore is engaging, thought provoking & passionate about his subject. If you need to take a PoliSci class I highly recommend this one. However, do not be complacent b/c of the open format. His exams are worded in such a way that requires extreme attention and critical thought. Oh & READ!
