I love Dr Burger hes a loud teddy bear. I love that he gets off topic everyday I learn so much about the world. That man knows EVERYTHING, so smart! If you need to be coddled by your professor do not take his class. You have to be independent thats for sure. But if youre really struggling and need help his door is always open during office hours

Burger was a horrible teacher. Told me I should be serious if I wanted to pass the class instead of ask if I was struggling and needed help. He never teaches about anything worth listening to, and he gets off topic 100% of the time. He failed me in two assignments because he stated I was sloppy. Hated his class & he made me feel like a failure

He does not give Longwood a good name, because he is relatively inappropriate and does not seem to care about anything. He spends 98% of the class talking about things other than the class topic and is very unorganized. I only took him as a professor if he was the only professor teaching the course. Avoid him if possible.

Do not take professor Burger for Contemporary Social Problems. Though he seems to somewhat care about his students, you will not learn anything and end up disappointed with C- or D+. He gives Longwood a bad name and embodies the stereotypical "bad professor."

I have about 5 pages of notes in this class. We talk about the most random things for the first half of the class and then he reteaches us the same thing over and over again. About three papers in the class. He is a really tough grader and his tests are hard.

Dr. Burger is not only an amazing professor, he is an amazing person. When I gave up on myself, he made me believe again, and that's what being a teacher is all about. Show him respect, and he will respect you. Participate, and he will interact with you. His classes are challenging, and not a one way street , but he makes the journey worth it.

He's an interesting guy and entertaining to listen to, but taking a class with him is frustrating. Don't bother trying to comprehend his "notes" which are just random misspelled words scribbled all over the board. And good luck trying to study for his all short answer exams which he gives you no sort of study guide or review for.

Sure, at the beginning, he comes off as "scary". He brags about how he likes to fail students and how he used to pass out withdrawal slips on the regular back in the day, but really, it's all talk. Go to class, participate in the discussions, and turn in the papers ON TIME. Make sure you follow the syllabus exactly for the paper format. Great guy.

Amazing professor. Classes are super fun and so interesting. I had him for 2 grad classes, all night Friday and all day Saturday and I never got bored. He tells the same stories over and over and they are better each time! I am taking him again in the fall because he is that awesome. His word of the day is Plethora (every day) :)

hes probably my favorite teacher at longwood. he is very helpful if you go and talk to him, dont be lazy, youre in college. knows a whole lot about the subject, and will keep you entertained in class. ive gotten a's in all but one of his 4 classes, and didnt work hard. dont need to take notes, no reading, or busy work. show up and talk = good grade

Oh wow, where do I even start..sloppy handwriting, has an annoying habit of going off-topic while lecturing, bad Brooklyn accent, and doesn't even TRY to explain the four 7-page papers I was required to complete. I would NEVER recommend this "professor" to anyone. He deserves to be fired!!

I have Dr.Burger for sociology of law and sociological theory. He is one of the most intelligent professors I have come across at Longwood and if you go to class and take clear notes YOU CAN GET AN A! No exams, just papers! I would highly recommend this teacher to anyone who has the opportunity of taking him, he acts like he doesn't care,HE DOES!
