Truly one of the best professors at Purdue. His lectures are entertaining and informative. He lays out very clear examples that make the assessments and homework very doable. Would absolutely take his class again.

Dr. Crossley's classes were interesting, his homework informative, and the class was not excessively difficult. I have found myself using the optimization methods on personal projects in my spare time, if that tells you anything about the course.

Took as an online student. Interesting material and fair grading. I'm not a big fan of his lecture style since it seems like so much of it is watching him fill in the notes. I'd rather have him focus more on the concepts/interesting tidbits/motivations since the math itself for MDO is pretty easy to follow on your own in general. Overall good class

Amazing teacher! He really knows his stuff and is really easy going. Makes lots of really dumb jokes but what do you expect, he is an engineer! The class was a lot of work but I learned tons!

Crossley is the best professor I have ever had at Purdue. He was my first experience with grad school courses and made it fantastic. He truly goes above and beyond to make sure students understand material; several times he would email me separately when I asked TAs for help so that he could elaborate on their explanation. He's kind and funny, too.

Overall, the professor was excellent in the lectures and put in some effort to be available outside of class. Grading was usually fair and the regrade policy was generous. Flexibility in assessment and project due dates was extremely helpful and greatly appreciated. I would definitely take another course taught by this professor.

The buildup in the class content was also particularly helpful for someone like me getting back into school and easily pick up the graduate level content and still be very challenging. Dr Crossley has definitely set the bar on how a distance learning class should be run.

Dr. Crossley is an EXCELLENT professor. His lectures are interesting, and presented in a way that keeps your interest and ensures learning. Tests are challenging, but not tricky for tricky's sake. He is personable, approachable, and responsive. He's also corny and self-deprecating, which most people find endearing. Great prof!
