Bill is a great instructor. If you're a tech type person and don't expect to get your hand held all semester, you will enjoy Bill a lot as a teacher. If you ask him any technical question, he will give excellent advice, you WILL learn from him with the right question asked. He is very fair on marking and wants you to succeed if you show any effort.

Bill needs to devote more time to larger topics. Because he is not organized he doesn't have the time, which is a shame. Handing back assignments at the end of the semester doers not benefit students at all. We need that feedback to use as a metric for how we are preforming in that course. Having no idea how well you are doing is a big problem.

Bill really understands what he's doing. I've learned a lot and he always makes things easy to understand for students and often reviews material for students who are having trouble. His lectures can get off course now and then, but will get back on topic if you let him know. Nevertheless they are ALWAYS interesting.

Knows his stuff but is unable to properly teach or follow deadlines. Example: Bill doesn't mark assignments until the end of semester. One of our courses which we paid tuition for ended up being a free IBM contest (open to the public) and was completed in less than a week with minimal effort. Very disappointed considering the praise he's given.

Bill taught several classes: Adv Db Des, ERP, b/p and Rec and Data Warehousing. All were extremely hard. Bill has a great way to reach all the students who may have issues with concepts. All I would change is that I would advise having Oracle licensing available for the students to get better access as well as Oracle database added to netwk.

Bill has an almost magic ability to teach you, have you remember what you learned, but to never really know when it happened. He tells long stories and kind of rants some times, he makes odd jokes and uses references to weird things but all of it culminates in you actually knowing the material and really liking Bill.

Amazing professor, he will talk for the whole class and you'll wonder if you have learned anything. But when the time for the assignments come around you'll have a ton of information in your head that you weren't even aware of. He's very good for office hours and is professional and cares for his students.
