Fed is a great professor! He really wants you to learn the material and welcomes and uses student feedback throughout the course. His class definitely isn't easy, but you will learn a lot. And you have to be prepared for his dry sense of humor.

Unlike others, I think his teaching style is particularly clear and absolutely great for learning. He explains everything carefully and thoroughly. When he says that his exams are very theory based, he means it! I got an A using flash cards - so don't spend all of your time with practice problems.

He's good but he's hard. The problem I had with him is that there are no practice problems to do, which is what I rely on when trying to learn the material, especially in difficult classes. He's a difficult grader.

One of the best profs I have seen in my life. He know his stuff and is very apt in conveying his thoughts across the class room. Solving problems effortlessly (because he comes well prepared) is his forte along with great communication. Dr. Federspiel, you rock!
