He was very intelligent. Speaks in a fairly monotone voice, but if you can manage to pay attention the entire time then the content of the lecture is interesting. Readings are a bit difficult, but he explains them well. Going to class is very important because tests are based on what he says in lecture. Smart guy. I would recommend him.

The lectures were pretty boring, but they help with understanding the material from the book. There is a lot of reading but it's pretty pointless because he'll explain it the next day. Two tests and two papers that the TAs scale enormously. A B+ wasn't hard to get.

I was unsure of philosophy when I signed up. But I found it really interesting, and really enjoyed listening to Fitzpatrick. He is very intelligent, and the tests aren't too bad. You have two papers which can be challenging. A is definitely possible.

Fitzpatrick is a nice guy. I'm a science major, so philosophy was not my thing. This class involves a lot of reading, and you must come to class with an open mind prepared to listen for details. He has no tolerance for laptops, or people leaving class early. He will call you out on this. Class can be enjoyable, but it is not an easy A.

This just goes to show how easy of a major Philosophy is. Took this class as a non-technical elective (CS major) and breezed through it. Essays can be written the night before without any trouble, and the material is very easy to understand. The prof is personable and makes the material easy to understand. Class is optional, even for an A.

Fitzpatrick is a genius! His knowledge in the subject is extensive, classes are very interesting if you like Philosophy. The readings are pretty boring but the recitations help you learn the material. His tests are straightforward if you've come to class. Go to class, the recitations, and talk to your TA before your papers and youll be good.

He definitely knows his stuff, but I found his tone extremely boring and found myself zoning out a lot. If u try REALLY hard, u will pass the class. He does help u if u go to his office hours. Also get started on your papers/studying for exams EARLY.

This guy might be the smartest person you'll ever meet. I had look up vocab words every class period. If there's a complex issue that needs to be made distinct, he can do it so that a retarded turtle could understand. That's how smart he is. Other than that he's generally an awesome person partially because he loves his wife and son.

He's a decent teacher, but tends to be a bit boring at times. The workload isn't all that hard. If you try, you should get a B.
