Sorry for the poor grammar. I meant to say that the midterm was based more on the previous test he posted but especially the lecture problems. Do take his advice on what you should and should not study, by the way. He says it explicitly in his syllabus.

Very clear and straight-forward professor. His exams draw HEAVILY off the problems done in lecture. If you can do those, and you understand the homework, you're set for an A. A bit awkward in office hours, but helpful. Looks like Bill Nye.

Some what of an awkward professor that expects you to know everything covered in the class. That being said, if you put decent effort come MT and final time you will be fine if you study off the notes he provides. I hardly understood the homework but got an A in the class. His penmanship is very nice btw, none of that usual physics hieroglyphics

Prof. Gary is probably the most clear and knowledgeable professor I have every had. If you put in the effort to go to class, listen, and work on the homework you will do fine. He may seem a little unapproachable at first, but he really does enjoy helping.

He is a good teacher with superb notes, that are by the way hand written. Do the homework, ask for help and you are almost fine. He might get a little rash if you show stupidity.

First off, Physics 40C is legitimately hard material. That said, he made it quite a bit worse. His lectures are rather unhelpful and his tests are incredibly hard. Of course, there's really no avoiding physics professors if you need the class, so good luck if you've got him.

avoid if possible: personality problems and stupid lectures (breezes over difficult topics, babbles about easy ones)

Letctures are unclear and disorganized, and when you go to his office hours, he just repeats his whole lecture.

By far one of the best professors one can have as a teacher. He not only kept me awake in class by getting extra exited about the material, but got me interested in the subject itself. Cheers!
