Wasn't a fan of the subject as it was, but prof certainly does not help at all. A lot of textbook reading, constant pop quizzes that require close reading. Boring lectures, requires students to raise their hands to participate. Always wants a specific answer. 10 page research paper for final that is just a hassle. Stay away from this prof.

For the honors class, it is almost all student run and Graves does barely teaches. It is very unclear about what he wants for his assignments. Class structure for honors section is there are five groups and each group presents their book for four classes. I would not take him unless absolutely necessary.

If you don’t like Graves, there’s probably something wrong with you. I put forth very little effort in his class and it’s my biggest regret during my time at Bryant. I didn’t study, passed in the final paper a week late, and got a B-. Graves is phenomenally interesting and teaches with a passionate intensity that oozes meaningful content.

Graves is a really smart man, some of his lectures get off track quickly. However, his tests are crystal clear and if you study from his study guide you can easily do very well.

Never gives his students a chance to be right. He is always right and you never are in his eyes. Extremely boring class, one of the most disinteresting professors at Bryant.

Graves is very intelligent, but usually his lectures dont relate or relate very little to the articles we read. His tests are very fair, and if you put effort into the class you will get a good grade.

Professor Graves is a very smart man, but he is an anthropologist not an literature professor, enough said.He doesn't really know how to hold a normal conversation without using insanely huge words or explain anything so you can understand it.He likes to think that his ideas are always right and doesn't allow you to have your own opinion.switch out

Graves is extremely intelligent. He really wants his students to be as interested in the subject as he is but that just isnt happening. He's a good guy, but his class is very tough. Class particpation is a must! Somtimes class is a little dull. Its not an easy class, but it also is not as bad as other comments suggest.

You will come to find out Graves is a brilliant man if you take the time to talk to him. He has been through a lot in life and it shows. You'll do fine if you learned how to write better than an ape in high school. He throws out Bs for average papers, most don't know what a good paper is. Class can be tedious but you can surf the net the whole time

Worst teacher I have come across at Bryant. He talks and talks and talks...sometimes he doesn't make sense. I remember he told us how easy post modernism was to understand because of its relation to modernism...he never defined the terms and basically left us out to dry without teaching us anything. Outside of class he is interesting to talk to

If you have to take his class I suggest learning how to sleep with your eyes open. Impossible grader, he thinks everybody is a professional writer. Class time is increadibly boring, and he is always expecting more discussion even when there is nothing left to talk about. I would aviod him at all costs.

drove me into clinical depression. i advise you to write "A" papers if u want a shot at pulling a 3.0, meaning you will get a grade or 2 lower than what you deserve.

This guy is horrible. The way he grades is impossible to understand, and I'm left confused as to why I got a certain grade on a paper. He dosn't explain his reasoning very well either. I wouldn't take this class unless you want a challenge. You might as well go appear on MXC instead of taking a class with him.

The first class in an excercise in public masterbation for this guy. OH ME, OH ME, OH ME! He is a very liberal, very closed minded, intellectual elitist. I would avoid him. I swore off INTS after taking him. If he asks your opinion on an exam, you HAVE to write what he believes, even if its a purely opinion question. This was painful for me, as we rarely saw eye to eye. Outside of class he isn't a bad guy, but he is off his power base then so you can go for the throat on his high ideals better.

Smart guy -- tedious classes, its like trying to pull teeth..Goes on about things forever and doesnt like students opinions. Tests are easy--just do review questions and use examples. PAPER SUCKS...good luck...lots of research...easy class if you read and take lots of notes in class

The most stuck up teacher I've every had. His ability to teach is marginal. The man loves his coffee. He grades you as though you are a professional writer. If you are unlucky enough to get into this class word of advice bring your laptop and maybe even your headphones
