Comment:

This was the one class this semester that I never dreaded going to. We opened each class with meditation which was amazing alone. The lectures were always interesting and I learned something new in every lecture. There were a few projects that were time consuming, but they werent difficult and the grading was clear and easy. Loved this class!

I've taken GRA101 and GRA440 with Heywood, and they are essentially the same class. A few assignments overlap but I would say GRA440 is easier, though they are both easy A's. Heywood has some crazy ideas but overall, very wise man. Also very liberal so be prepared for some political comments here and there. One test in 101 and none in 440, easy A's

I enjoyed taking his class! The lectures are helpful info and applicable to any college student. His grading criteria can be really open-ended with assignments, though. Keep up with your reflection journal and do your best on the Hero's Journey project!

Professod Heywood teaches you how to navigate life as a designer; you will learn about personality types, time management, stress, mindfulness meditation, values, affirmations, mission statements, and character strengths. I used this class for my honors contract and it was easy but not a waste of time. By far my favorite class!

I really appreciated how passionate he is about what he teaches. He is a little repetitive and gets frustrated when people don't answer questions in class. Also, the instructions for projects and homework are usually left open ended (which makes it confusing at first) so you have to use your own creativity and interpret them the best you can.

Class was super easy but was way too long and course material was redundant. He went on rants a lot. None of the course material was related to graphic design. Pretty much an easy A if you show up. Midterm and final were online and five friends and I took them together and all got A's on them.

Doctor Heywood is truly a gift to this earth. At the start of every class, he has everyone meditate which helps with focus throughout the lecture. Even though lecture is mandatory, you find yourself wanting to go. Definitely if you're feeling down on your luck, take his class. Just be ready for projects that require creativity.

Great professor and his class is pretty easy. He does take attendance though and that counts as part of your grade. Funny guy and pretty lenient. Midterm and Final are ridiculously easy if you actually take notes. Only thing I disliked about him was that his assignments were all over the place, kind of disorganized. Other than that, he was great

He is an eye opening teacher that's teaching style is unique compared to other teachers. However, pay attention to deadlines and be open to his particular style of getting the class involved. Feeling like you're in a low point in life? He's the teacher to help you out of it. Easy A if you turn things in and actually put some creativity in it.

I've taken 3 of his classes and all I can say is they opened my eyes. I took his 101 class when I was going through a really rough patch and the meditation helped tremendously. I would highly recommend this class to everyone. Go in with an open mind and you'll feel renewed in the end.

Heywood is an insightful lecturer and motivational speaker, he is not however a great professor. I loved the content of his class and the way his assignments challenged me. But he has no sense of deadlines, requirements, etc. Taking notes in this class is awful, his lectures are scattered allover the place. Overall he is extremely disorganized.

He is an awesome professor. He makes you want to go because the lectures are interesting. He is giving good advice on how to live a happier life. Teaching us how we can accomplish obstacles in life and so much more. He has us meditate before each class which I absolutely love. Super chill class. going to take more classes offered by him.

Like another student said the class is full of clichéd self-help advice but Professor Heywood really does care about what he is teaching and his students. There was a pretty large autobiography project due, but he did cancel the final for us. Lectures are long but interesting enough and if he sees people getting tired he will end things early.
