His exams is where it'll get ya. The homework couldn't be easier and the reading is actually interesting. Be sure to cite your answers or he'll take off points. Test 2 is the hardest and will be the determinant for your grade at the end of the semester. Create study guides for tests based on the vocab words, study questions and homework assignments

Professor Horner was WONDERFUL. It is so rare to see a college professor who is actually passionate about teaching, and Horner made his love of the subject matter clear. Course content was difficult because I was one of the few freshman in the class and was taking basic Political Science 1100 simultaneously, but it was a great class overall!

horner is one of the best and most laid back profs at mizzou. attendance was only mandatory on days that we had guest speakers. sometimes i felt like his lectures were kind of hard to follow, but he always reiterates himself to make sure you understand. you can tell he really loves what he is teaching

Super easy mandatory-government-class. Horner makes it interesting, and he gives you extra credit practically weekly for doing absolutely nothing. You're graded only on multiple-choice tests. You do need to come to class every day though, and at least skim the readings. But come to class, get the extra credit, and leave with an A.

Horner is very experienced and respected in the poli sci world. He gives good feedback and insight in his commentary. Sometimes he can come across biased towards republicans but still a fair grader. Good course overall as long as you read the material and can make inferences.

Horner is a very nice and fun professor. There is a textbook, and then another book of political documents. Both are awful but you have to read them to test well. The class was canceled a lot as he is a busy man, but accessible. Lots of extra credit, so show up to learn about that. Lectures can really drag if you aren't into the topics. Smooth ride

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE!!! It will ruin your GPA. The exams are short answer questions and he is a hard grader. I failed the first exam and did well on the next two and ended up with a B in the class. I'm a good student and this was a hard class. I asked for any opportunity to gain extra points for my grade and he denied every attempt.

I really don't know a whole lot about government, but Horner made it kind of interesting. You definitely want to show up to class, but as long as you're taking notes and listening to what he's saying, you'll be fine. He's one of my favorites at Mizzou (and his shirts are always really fun). Just like any other class, if you study you'll be fine!

Interesting material that is pertinent to issues in society today. Very eclectic teacher who has done immense research on the subject and published many books. He even interviewed many A-list celebrities that he shares in class. Tests are comprised entirely of essays but if you comprehend the material than it is easy to get an A. You will learn

Do NOT take this class online. There's 3 exams and each one is 40 short answer questions from 5 chapters worth of reading. Unless you're a perfect test taker, you'll probably spend at least 5 hours a week preparing for these tests.

I would not suggest taking this class from him. Lectures are very boring and I had a hard time following them. A lot of the test answers come from the book and readings so make sure you do those.

This man is by far the best professor at Mizzou. He cares for all of his students both grade wise and emotional. He is very passionate about his work outside of class. He gives a lot of extra credit but don't use him for the extra credit. Read everything and you'll get a super easy A+.

I love William Horner as a person, he's personable, funny, and accessible. However, his lectures are fairly auditory based, so if you're an auditory learner, congrats this is the class for you! However, if you're more visual like me, lectures are extremely hard to follow and understand. He doesn't use slides at all, so just keep that in mind.

Very nice guy who is very knowledgable on the subject. There are 3 exams, one big assignment, & 5 attendance quizzes. Tests are easy if you actually study for them. If you take good notes in class, it's easier to fill out his study guide. A curve and extra credit are added to each exam. I didn't read at all and did fine.
