Hunt, a clearly very intelligent professor, though grades unfairly, is set in his own ideals, and interrupts his wife every time she tries to talk.

As long as you study for the quizzes and work hard on the papers you'll do fine! Best history professor I've had, advice I would give is to go in and talk with him about the papers, it helps!

This professor has a reputation around campus, and not just with the students, as being a VERY hard professor. It's not so much the work is hard, he grades very hard. This guy KNOWS HIS STUFF. My advice is that one should do the work WELL, READ, and be VERY nice to him, it may help you out later (I know from experience).

I had Hunt for both my FYP and FYS, and he is to date the best teacher I have ever had. He's insanely intelligent, funny, friendly, and a great teacher all around. If you come to class, do the reading, and work hard on your writing, you are guaranteed to do well. Take his class, you'll learn more than you'd ever expect.

Professor Hunt, This man is pompous and full of himself and De Tocqueville, which by the way is the one book they will refer to through out the whole course, the Fyp class is team taught but donĂ¢€™t expect much from his wife who is simply his cheerleader as she sits and watches him teach the whole Fyp course with a few giggles here and there...

the hardest grager you could have. two pages of writing guidelines with very steep penalties. He smart but more along the lines of Rain man smart than just intelligent. a little on the crazy side.

Hunt is a horrible professor. He is not only completely full of himself, but he doesn't know how to accept opinions other than his own "Flaming Liberal ideas". He looks down upon all other students and tries to embarrass them at every opportunity. If he is in a bad mood - WATCH OUT FOR YOUR GRADE!!! He is a disgrace to the SLU teaching community.

He is without a doubt the worst teacher I have had here. The class material is interesting and he is a smart guy, but he is pompous and very unfriendly. Students who seek extra help will find none with him, he leaves you to do work on your own and refuses to help you if you ask. He is condescending and makes you feel inferior.

Love him - like has been said several times he definitely likes to lecture and give a lot of reading. Quizzes are easy. I haven't taken an intro course w/him, but upperlevels have a relatively light work load. if you put in the effort and interest, then he will take notice & help you out. Quite possibly one of the smartest men on SLU's campus.

One of the best teachers I've had at SLU. His weekly quizes are easy to prepare for the night before and he covers the main concepts of every reading within his lectures (which are fun to listen to).

Best history course I've ever taken. Hunt lectures every class, so your hand gets very tired, but he covers everything he tests on. Papers were difficult, but he is a very fair grader. Not too helpful, but he does give the student a clear objective.

I agree, that class was horrible. Never take a class with him. He made me not want to minor in History because he is teaching a lot of the classes and he has the same format for each one.

Easy quizes, but very bad essays. They seem easy to write but then he fails almost everyone in the class. He is not helpful at all to clarify, and spends no time explaining how to do better.
