If you cannot deal with sarcasm or wit don't take this class. I have had LB for two classes and she is amazing. She has standards. This is college people. Come to class, do the work, and participate. No reason you can't get an A. I have used a lot of info from her classes for my other CJ classes. Very awesome Professor!!

Little to add to the other critical comments that are all accurate. She has a great loathing and contempt for men that makes her unpleasant to be around. She still imagines she is some athlete which is one of the greatest jokes of all time. Avoid her at all costs!!

Many people can be intimidated by P. Way, but it's obvious those people are a little closed minded. Her lectures and class work can be a little difficult, but it is easy to get a good grade if you're willing to do the work. The homework assignments are also for your own good. Hello! You can use all your notes on the tests! The class is worth it!

She is a great teacher. You do have to keep up with the work and go to class, but you can learn a lot. She's a feminist and a social reformer, but the comments on here obviously do not think that is a good quality. Overall, she is helpful, intelligent, and funny! If you want to study the realities of policing with an intellectual, take the class!

A tediously grim, politically correct teacher. Incredibly biased and one-sided, an obsessed social reformer, a horrible scholar and a zealot. Clueless and dreary in ways that I never imagined. A huge, angry turn off who spouts totally unpersuasive claims.

Professor Way is interested in her topic and it shows. While she can be extremely biased and preachy at times, overall she's a good prof. Her reading summaries are like playing the lottery though, you have to develop the ability to magically decipher what she wants to see put down, but she lets you use them on the tests...

She doesnt seem to realize that her students have other classes also. assigns a weekly assignt that is usually a 3 pg paper plus research paper, and presentation. 2 tests, open notes but still hard. if u disagree w/ her, you wont do well. has her favorites and usually that is her TAs. grades extremely hard. can make u feel dumb. calls on u randomly

You'll do fine in this class if you're a female. To the males, she's condescending, unhelpful, and combative. "It's not your fault if you're white, hetero and male"- verbatum from Prof. Way during her "semester wrap-up" for spring 07 semester. If you want to succeed in her class- just write exactly what she believes. Don't even try to disagree.

Most amazing professor I have had the pleasure of experiencing! She is intelligent and passionate about this course. She requires a reading summary (2 pages summarizing the reading assignment)each day, but it requires students to be engaged in the course and walk away with more knowledge than I had ever imagined!

She did a great job of keeping the class interactive and interesting. Most classes you sit there and listen to the professor ramble on for an hour and that's the whole of the class. Dr. Way on the other hand really opened the class up for discussion, which I feel makes a class more interesting. She definately expresses her liberal ideology, which I didn't always agree with, but she's entitles to her opinion and she actually opened my eyes in some ways.
