smart as heck, but sucks at teaching. the material is pretty boring, and going to class isn't going to make it any more interesting or clearer. if you can, take another prof. if not, just read the book yourself and make sure you understand it. it's only a 2 credit course, meaning it's not too bad to do on your own

Comment:
Material in this class not that difficult but he makes it harder than it should be. He lectures about the theory and proofs instead of practicing actual problems. Completely useless to go to class. Have to completely reteach the material to yourself at home in order to do well on the graded homework. Didn't feel ready for the midterm and final.

The class is boring and the prof is a mook. Tends to ramble on about things not pertaining to math. Walks around and talks like a robot, which ironically enough is the only thing that kept me awake in class cuz it was so funny to look at. He is your typical math whiz w/ the bug eye glasses and everything. But his explanations make up for mookyness

HORRIBLE CLASS. Attendance wasn't necessary; you are better off teaching yourself through the book or online. The whole class isn't interesting from the beginning--Keith just makes it worse. He spends a lot of time on theorems and proofs and not so much time on solving examples and working on exams. He is in his own world. NOT recommended.

This guy is completely out of his tree. I have him for basic logic, sets, and probability, and the class isnt hard at all, its just that he'll take up the entire class trying to explain how 1+5 doesn't equal 18, and 7 equals 7. Yea, exactly. If you need a GQ course, i defiantely reccomend this class. You'll have fun pickin on Ol' nerdy Willem Defoe

Comment:
If you asked William Keith to explain 2+2=4, it would take him 20 minutes and a long proof using difficult terminology. After you are thoroughly confused, you would not understand what just happened or why it's 4. Basically, the math isn't that hard, but the way he explains it with complex vocabulary and definitions just make everything difficult.

I think he seriously controls his own little world bc hes out there. Smart as all hell, but can go too fast and not explain things to an average math student. Homework was graded ridiculously and there were 24 homeworks, 3 quizes, 1 test, and final. Tests werent that bad but stay on top of the homework or it will come back to haunt you. Good Book

He seemed very interested in the material, but couldn't make it interesting for the rest of us. He picked on me a lot because I'm a math major and it made me very uncomfortable. His grader also graded the homework incorrectly and he never fixed it.

It's not that he doesn't love math or teaching, it's just that he's too good at math and not good enough at putting it at the level of those who aren't a genius at math.

Wow. This man's genius astounds me. You can tell he's incredibly smart, and can/will answer any question you have, but sometimes has a problem conveying all of it to we lesser mortals. Ask him for math stories to get on his good side.
