As indicated by others, probably one of the best professors at Camden County College. If you really want to learn chemistry and not JUST what the book says, Prof. Lavell is the guy for you. But you should read the book, too.

Very funny guy, very personable. You have two tests, and a portfolio due at the end. All three were graded very easily. For his forensic class, I wouldn't bother buying the textbook, the labs are super easy and well explained. You'll love professor Lavell :)

By far one of the best professors at CCC! He truly cares about the success of his students (as long as you put forth effort), & is passionate about chemistry. His sarcasm is hilarious. Not condescending in anyway no matter how difficult the material. Tests can be short but thorough, so read the TB, do the problems, & ask questions!!!

Professor Lavell in my opinion is the best chem teacher at CCC. He makes the class fun and is always there to help you if you need it. As long as you pay attention and do the practice tests, you will succeed and get an A. I would recommend him to anyone taking chem!

Best prof ever. If you sit in the front and actually try to participate even if you arent sure, he'll help you get to the answer and it will be fun. Him and his wife actually made is cupcakes! If you dont want somethin on the test, he wont put it on there. Might bit ya in the butt for the dept final though. I nvr understood chem in hs but i do now!

Took him over the summer. This guy is hilarious and the tests are really straightforward because those problems have been introduced in lecture before. He's really relaxed in just about everything. Just show up, listen, take good notes, and you're ready for the exams. I'm a Chemical Engineering student so Orgo just clicks perfectly with me.

Dr. Lavell is the sweetest and funniest professor I have ever had. He is extremely helpful. he always gives out sample test for review which end up being exactly the same. He has the greatest sense of humor. He still expects you to take the class serious and give it your full attention. If you show him you care then he will give you the A.

Dr. Lavell is a good but a challenging professor. You must be able to learn independently as you will not learn the extensive amount of information that is presented in the class. Come to class having read the book and having completed some of the questions on your own. He does not assign homework. He is helpful and wants you to succeed. Recommend.

This was second 5-week summer class I took with Dr. Lavell. Compared to my first summer class with him, he didn't really teach much but he expected to learn everything by ourselves. It was really hard even to understand it alone so make sure to read the book before the class starts! But if you have questions, ask him and he will help you!

One of most unique professors and I mean that in a good way. He is so different from other professors. The material itself is hard so if you want to succeed in his class review the chapter BEFORE coming to class or else you'll be lost. But he was really funny and the whole class loved him.

Professor Lavell is fantastic! He is very easy. What an easy A! Labs can be turned in whenever pretty much! dont have to go out of the way to type them just do the questions no math! His tests are laid out 2 weeks before hand and he gives a great review! The final with him doesnt change your grade at all. he grades on a huge curve!
