Comment:
Bill Luyben is by far the best Chemical Engineering professor I have ever had. He gives great presentations and actually cares about the students learning. He is also the only one that is of any help for your ASPEN simulation. He is the reason Lehigh ChE is so well-respected. Try to get him for Unit Ops III as well, other professors are useless.

LUYBEN IS LEHIGH CHE! His Plant Design class is THE formative experience that will arm you with the tools you need for the real world and will bond you to every Lehigh CHE you meet out there. You can't BS him and you've got to know your stuff. Only professor I've ever had who's shot a man!

Took both Senior ChE labs with him - he is an awesome professor! One of very few that has tonsof real engineering experience. He is REALLY tough with questions but is willing to help if you ask for it. Doesnt think you're stupid if you don't know something but will call you a Lafayette engineer :) Also beware of donut alarm - wear safety gear!!

He was nice and clear in class, but when it came time for tests, forget it. He'd test you on **** that he never taught you. I also had him for Senior lab and he would not help you. You'd ask a question and he'd answer with one. Horrible.

Teaches senior year ChE plant design. Oh the stories I could tell ... A nice guy, usually very fair, always clear. Tow the line in his class - loves to name your mistakes after you, may even call your work Lafayette engineering.
