Salzillo can be difficult to read at times but his classes are definitely worthwhile if you take the time to ask him specific questions. He is a little burnt out from the teaching scene but he is actually a really talented artist with a lot of knowledge about the field. All you need to do is ask questions and you will learn a lot.

Salzillo is awesome if you get on his good side. He loves people who have never taken any art classes before. If you speak up during the critiques and put in a lot of hours in the studio outside of class, you'll get an A

This guy is pretty terrible. Disinterested in students and fairly rude at points. He obviously doesn't care about the class and seems pretty miserable in general. He does throw out an easy grade, although I didn't learn a thing from him.

Professor Salzillo is a little hard to read at times. He tries to make his descriptions of assignments vague to give you room to work and be creative in your projects, but his class is definitely not an easy A if you are unwilling to put the time into the projects. You will get out what you put into class.

As a student very interested in art and entering the course with extensive prior experience/skill, Salzillo is terrible. He does not give any constructive criticism and he doesn't know what he's talking about most of the time. I did not learn anything from his class. He is very easy if it looks like you put any semblance of time into a piece.

I felt he was more interested in me personally than academically. I felt as he was hitting on me most of the semester. Being a male, it was uncomfortable because i had no interest.

He seemed alright, but turned out to be really bad. He is misleading and not genuine. He plays favorites. If you're one of his favorites then great. Otherwise... Also, he's very bad with communication.

Salzillo is the best. People say he's easy- he'll give good grades IF you meet expectations- he can definitely tell when you're slacking off, so don't take things for granted. Overall he's awesome.

Very helpful and helps you work with the painting you have done to achieve the best skill you can. His critics are both intersting and helpful. He's also one of the nicest guys you will meet.
