Dr. Snyder is my favorite professor at SVC so far. He is a tough grader but as long as you put forth effort he will work with you. I can see where other people would have a problem with him but i enjoyed his class and did well in it.

Dr. Snyder is very helpful, and he honestly wants to improve the writing of his students. He is a tough grader, but he is helpful and will tell you how to fix your writing in order to improve next time.

Snyder was an awful professor. He barely had class. He graded harshly. He didn't really teach much of anything.

Snyder was terrible. I had a B in his class and he told me that he didn't think college was the place for me, because my writing was "too high school" and refused to help me fix my writing. He cancels class constantly and made fun of student's papers and assignments during class on a projector.

Dr. Synder is a nice person but a terrible Professor. Over course of the semester there will be weeks at time where there is no class so he can conference with students about writing assignments but really it is just 20 minutes of him criticizing your paper with no good suggestions. When he does have class, his lectures are pointless and vague.

Dr. Snyder's classes are absolutely worthwhile. Tough material? Sometimes. Tough grader? Yep. Will you leave his class a better writer? Absolutely. He's never made students purchase any textbooks and I've had him several times. He levels with students and tries to make it as easy as he can considering his purpose of making students better writers.

Dr. Snyder knows his material and conveys it reasonably well. If you want an A, you will have to spend a lot of time on the varoius assignments, especially teh essay magazine. This class will improve the writing of anyone who actually sputs in the necessary time and effort.

He has difficulty conveying the information to the class. It seems like often he is trying to rush throught the material so he can have class time off. Also, meeting with him is not very helpful, because he doesn't explain how to change things, and only tells you that you need to fix parts of your writing. The class was not enjoyable or worthwhile.

His class is actually interesting. As long as you have the skills to write above the level of a high school student, you'll do fine. His attempts to be 'cool' can be a bit annoying, but he's a good guy. Always approachable for help, and mostly easy to follow. You don't even have to read anything he assigns. Oh, he has real good taste in music, too.

If you enter Snyders class without an above average ability to write or memorize be prepared to work. His witty comments about pop figures are not to be taken literally and I havea feeling most of the time the references are used mockingly. He is legit and knows his material. Again, only take his class if you are willing to work.

This man is an amazing teacher! Yes, he's a hard teacher and a hard grader, but the world is a tough place and he makes sure you're prepared. He's funny, approachable, and a genius. If you want a challenge or want to be a better writer, take one of his classes, and you will be baptized in literary fire and come out a better writer.

Seriously good teacher for learning how to write. Tests are very, very difficult, though, even if you study like mad. However, he's very rude and condescending to the students, and insults his class regularly. There's no need for that.

He tries to be all "hip" and "cool" by constantly referencing pop songs 1000000 times each class. Also comes off as really creepily obsessed with teen pop idols sometimes. If I hear one more time about how Taylor Swift won a short story contest in 4th grade for "Monster in the Closet", I will scream.

I love reading the comments of people who recently had Dr. Snyder and whine how "mean" and "unfair" he is. It's called character building. Typical of this generation who want everything gift-wrapped and handed to them. Not everyone deserves a trophy for just showing up, people. Wake up and work for once.

Really solid teacher who knows his stuff. You'll learn a lot that will help you, but he's disrespectful for students and often downright insulting. He gives no encouragement or positive feedback - only negative. Make sure your self-confidence is up before taking him, as he will tear you down.

Knowledgeable, but exceptionally insulting. He expects us to act like college students, yet it is plausible that his maturity level hasn't even left high school.

Dr. Snyder gets a lot of heat, but it is really just because of the classes he teaches. No matter who taught them they would require a lot of work. He does his best at making sure you actually LEARN from the class to become a better writer... and the only way to do that is to write, A LOT!

Dr. Snyder is one of the most brilliant professors on campus. Not only does he understand the material he covers in class, he provides ample opportunities on Blackboard for students to print out his lectures. In addition, he is available outside of class for conferences. He spaces assignments out evenly and provides assistance when necessary.
