I feel that this professor wants to connect to his students with the curriculum on a high level. He really works hard to get students to understand and is willing to help (answers emails quickly). The coursework is reasonable, but concepts can be difficult. He grades fairly, but you have to put in the effort to get the grade (this is not an easy A)

This class is very confusing but if you attend every class and use his program to do every assignment, you'll manage a B in the class even if you fail the final. He is very willing to help and responds to emails almost inmediately. He also lets you leave about an hour early from every class. Very cool/chill teacher!!!!

If you think he is difficult, you're an idiot. He will help you whenever you need it and all you need to focus on is doing the homework right. Easy class if you're not a lazy slacker.

This was one of the toughest classes I've ever taken. If you do not like math, I do not recommend you take this class. However, if you do, this professor is awesome. He's always available to explain a problem if you need and is always available via email. His website is also very helpful for the HW assignments. The Excel program ROCKS!

I really enjoyed this class. If you like mechanical type of work like math you will like. Bill is very far and always ready to help. His class always got out early and he has a good sence of humor to help pass class.

This class was SO HARD! It's like a foreign language and calculus mixed together. Mr. T explains fairly well. He gets sidetracked a lot, but is available by email, returns emails usually within minutes! He tries to help as best he can, but it's up to you to figure it out. If you keep a 92% into the final you can skip the final and still get a C.

You'll never use this again. It's all nonsence and he gives 2-4 hours of hw a week. It couts for 60% of the grade and once you figure out his excell program its easy to get the hw right, but it takes for ever. It's like calculus and makes about as much sence.

What you learn may not make any sense at all, but it's totally different. If you lke to do tedious homework, like I do, you'll like this class. It was not at all what I expected, which was a good thing. Bill is goofy and nice.

The absolute hardest class I have taken. Do not take it online. This class is like a forgien language, and you will probably never use the material in the real world. If still interested, go to the website www.mrlogic.net. Look at the grade sheet, only 35% of the class is passing. Lots of examples, but when it comes to hw, problems are much harder!

The hardest class I've ever taken, but Mr. Tomlinson is the best teacher I've ever had. Very helpful with students, and his program makes doing the homework very easy.

I took this course with Prof. Stern and well... didn't pass. I retook the course with Prof. Tomlinson and really enjoyed it! He always makes sure that he is available to help you. As long as you put your work in, you will do fine in this class. No confusion here like there was with Prof. Stern.

What a fun class! Professor Tomlinson is a lively guy, into time paradoxes and nutty stuff as such. Make sure you know how to do the derivations by hand, because reliance on his program is a pitfall. The program itself is very cool and intuitive.

Bill is very helpful and has his own program that checks your answers before submitting. This material starts out pretty hard and gets worse -hair-ripping A-A-A-H! worse. Then in the next category of difficulty is the final. Good he weighs hw heavily.

Good teacher. Doesn't complicate things. Grading system is based more on homework than on exams (which is how it should be). I highly recommend taking him if you enroll in PHIL 230.
