Warner is a fantastic professor and an even more amazing role model. His academic approach to teaching the world of Microfinance was balanced well with hands-on learning and real-world experience. The fact that we were able to personally meet Muhammad Yunus in this class speaks volumes.

Warner is one of the most amazing individuals I have ever met in my life. I'd heard that he had started dozens of non profits and social ventures. After taking his class I can see why. Warner is inspirational man who has changed many lives across the globe. Many social ventures are started by his students right inside his class room. WARNER ROCKS!

Warner is a great guy. Nice, but opinionated and prone to say things that may cause offense or ruffling. His class is a little loosely organized, and sometimes it felt like he was just talking to get the time over with. There wasn't much substance given to us in the class but he seems to expect a lot of substance out of us.

Warner is a nice guy and does care about the community and those around him. However, his class is awful. Grades are completely random with no explanation, his lectures have almost no relationship to his tests or quizzes. Terrible teacher, would certainly recommend taking this from someone else

Complete COMMUNIST. Always praises communism and tells us how evil our "cowboy capitilism," as he puts it, is in this country. Bashes anyone who expresses ANY conservative view points at all. Wow. I am currently in Warner's class and I can tell you that he is an amazing teacher. He has so much experience in consulting it is ridiculous. You will not find a more experienced teacher. True, he starts off the first month with some liberal-ish lectures, but once he gets going you learn so much. He is a fantastic person and teacher.

This is the worst teacher I have ever had at BYU. He pushes his socialist agenda every class period without teaching a thing. He is the kind of person that takes pleasure in "kicking against the pricks". He constantly makes jabbing and belittling comments about the church, its leadership, and anything conservative. Biggest waste of time.

Nice guy, but a horrible teacher. Very disorganized, and persistent with extreme, biased political positions. Likes to brag about how BYU has tried to, but can't fire him. Readings are pointless and way too long. Take another class!!!

Yep. I agree with most comments, I knew Warner before I took the class and figured since he's a cool guy that the class would be too. WRONG. Grading was ridiculous, I got all As in my other classes, but in this class I failed the final and it just sucked. Don't take this class from him. Save yourself.

I hated this class. The tests were pretty easy (just from the powerpoints), but he gave aweful quizzes. He never responds to emails. He is big on doing humnaitarian work, but he doesn't even care about his students. He's a really aweful teacher.

Don't take an academic class from Warner. You might learn something, but it will be from the book, not from him, and you will inevitably fail the final. However, if you can take a seminar/experience class from him, do it! I have taken both. OB 321 was a huge waste of time, but the microfinance seminar (OB 490R) has been incredible!

He's all about "mercy" towards your fellow man but he will DESTROY you! If you have a bleeding heart you will love him. If you have one shred of normalcy stay away!

One of my least favorite teachers at BYU. He has a "holier than thou" attitude and harldy lets a student make a comment without interrupting. The most useless class in the world. Out of the wall ideas and pretty unorganized class. Don't get me wrong the professor is a great person with a good heart, but the class and the subject is useless and time wasting. If you want a good project you can do it on your own, or go twalk to him personally don't take the class and waste your time.
