Splits up the class and 2-3 people present every class based off the readings assigned for that week with a short response paper. You really don't have to read to pass the class. Only grades are 1 or 2 response papers, midterm paper, final paper, and attendance. Pretty easy and interesting class, especially if you don't like exams.

I took Soc 150 online and did not have a positive experience. I reached out to him via email with questions and he proved to be very unhelpful; he ignored most of the content in my email and always replied with one sentence that didn't even answer my questions. would not recommend

I took his sociology 150 course. It's a fairly easy class, it just requires a lot of reading outside of class along with 15 hours of volunteer work. He is a surprisingly easy grader and the class is interesting enough, but he can be hard to understand at times.

We received an introductory letter with a huge picture of him on the last page, and then nothing in the online course. He was completely absent from any instruction what-so-ever.

I liked Prof velez, but his class needs something to keep my from falling asleep. It's not hard, he grades pretty fairly. Just do the readings, because it will help. Somewhat boring.

Professor Velez is a very difficult person to learn from. I took a MULTIcultural class and since he's Puerto Rican, all we learned about were Puerto Ricans. He takes attendance every day, so you have to go but not even pay attention to pass. Don't buy the book, they are provided online. easy A, but don't take if you want to learn a lot.

Interesting Class + Easy Grade = Velez. You will learn a lot in his classes, and he is an easy grader as well. His exams are comprehensive (essays), but are take home. As long as you cover all the points in his essay questions, then you'll get an A. He also provides extra credit opts.

Extremely nice guy and an easy grader. Just put in your effort, you'll get at LEAST a C on tests. Way too much reading, but if you just do the work, you'll pass. Easy going guy and loves participation from the students. Also gives multiple oppertunities for extra credit. Nice Puerto Rican accent as well.
