I took three of his classes while attending COC. He was definitely one of the most memorable teachers I've ever had. He is both knowledgeable and passionate about geology. He had little tolerance for disrespectul students, of which there were many, and I'm sure that's why he has accrued so many negative comments over the years. But I love him.

He can seem a bit repetitive or off topic, but I learned more about California History than I ever possibly could have hoped for. Attendance is a must! I hope he writes a book before he retires! Watch King of California, and you will have a new appreciation for all that he is talking about.

I have taken Wutkee for 3 of his classes and got an A in each one. He is very passionate about what he is teaching, and will notice any one who shares his passion. As long as you listen to what he repeats and don't miss any classes, you will get a good grade in the class. He really does notice who cares and who doesn't.

Although some of the topics are dull and boring, he is fascinated by what he teaches. He has a real passion for topics, and he is really helpful. Attendance is not mandatory, but he will remember your face if you seem interested. He is laid back, his tests are directly from his handouts. Read them carefully. I would recommend him.

everyone has alot of comments about Wutkee, he is very smart and full of info. you just have to learn to abide by his ways. you dont have to do well on his tests, if you show up all semester you get an A its hard because he rambles alot but just listen to him and ask questions! dont make him mad by not showing up he doesnt ask for anything else

Ok, here is the deal. If you do not learn well from class notes and are more of a "I will read the book later when I get home" kind of person then DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. This guy is a ONE of a kind! Refers to himself in the third person while talking in monotone and gets off subject talking about who-knows-what. This class seemed to last a million hours. HOWEVER, he really means well, just a little too old to be teaching. Don't miss class & don't buy the book

I tried to be interested in the class and also tried to get along with him, but it was very difficult to do either. He was really helpful in the lab, but his lecture time was spent on his random babbling. Tests are difficult and he bases a lot of your grade on attendance it seems

A nice guy at heart, but has little patience for rude students. If you ask questions and show just a little interest in the material, it will go a long way on your final grade. I got a B- on every test, but asked questions and was polite, and he gave me an A in the class.

VERY BORING! Basically lectures from class start to class end and sometimes goes too in depth with things that aren't even on the test. Monotone voice, 70 years old, has been teaching for like 30 years. He's an Ancient professor who shows ancient films on an ancient machine and passes around ancient stuff. Tests are kind of hard. DON'T TAKE HIM!!!!

Don't take his class! He's a total psycho and his tests are insanely difficult! He sometimes mumbles and makes a joke and he gives THOSE materials in the test! If you want to succeed, buy him some weird looking rocks, write down EVERY SINGLE THINGS he say (do not miss a single word), and only look at his eye cuz he'll yell. HORRIBLE TEACHER!
