Prof. Winthrop Wetherbee, alias Pete, alias "The 'Throp," is a medievalist of inestimable concerns, and a scholar of considerable foresight. Don't think he won't call your bluff about 'being able to read Middle English.' Rarely known fact: A jazz aficionado, Throp Wetherbee lent horn-great Charles Parker his legendary nickname, which was "Birch."

Had heard such great things about Wetherbee, but have to say I was disappointed. He was mostly boring, though did it with some flair. Topics of lecture were often irrelevant or uninteresting. But engaging and animated overall.
