Threw the syllabus to the wind, the attendance grades and webassign grades ended up not mattering in the end just because he didn't feel like grading it. Should have received a B with all the homework and attendance but ended up getting a C. He also never did example problems and just showed powerpoint slides that were just pictures from the book

Class is structured based on exams that are kind of tricky. He expects students to be a god in math before coming into the course. He is an okay professor but doesn't explain concepts well, everything is self taught. He does not curve exams at all so don't ask and does not give exam reviews tbh I would just not recommend.

He is a nice guy and knows his stuff, but he does not teach it well. He barely does examples in class, he tells you to study things that are not on the test. We had to rely on a different calc professor's notes/ test reviews in order to do well. Test average were 50s with no curve. If you can avoid it, DO NOT TAKE HIM! 0/10 would recommend.

Attendance is counted and you better go to class and pay attention if you don't want to be lost. There are few test but the test count for the majority of the test. in order to pass the test go over notes, homework, and make note cards. All in all, if you can try not to get this teacher do it!

Proofs is an important building block to ANY higher level math courses. Typically we just blow off material and work hard to get the A/pass. I am telling you now, what concepts you learn need to follow you for the rest of your LIFE as a mathematician, or for at least the rest of your degree. His lectures were mostly to go over HW, so come prepared

Took it in summer. Dont know where these good ratings are coming from but what i've experienced is different. Straight off from power points. I did fine the first half because it was a different teacher. But as soon as this teacher came in my grades dropped. I did all the HW examples from the book etc.

Good teacher somewhat hard to understand at times. Would recommend him to upper level math students who enjoy math. He will work with you and help you because Dr. Li wants his students to pass and will help you if you ask. Everyone who stayed till the end passed the class.

Good teacher and very helpful. Don't hesitate to talk to him in his office. His HW is seriously hard expect to invest some time in this course. Fairly nice grader tho with partial credit. The tests have unexpected content as he did not give the greatest review. Would take him again but not as an elective.

Dr Li is a cool guy. He communicates extremely well. He was the first professor to really go over proofs in a way that was easy to follow and raised my interest in proofs. His quizzes come from homework and are open/book notes. Exams are extremely fair, no surprises. A+ prof.

Not the best math teacher ever, but by far not the worst either. Explanations were clear, tests come straight off the homework. He assigns a LOT of work, even though he doesn't grade it. Makes the tests a little more difficult because you dont have a clear idea of what to focus on. Still, he's very reasonable. Doesn't curve. Recommended!

Xin Li was AWESOME!!! He is the best calc teacher that I've had so far! He's easy to understand even though he has a slight accent. He makes sure that you understand the material as well as real world applications. Very fair grader and gives partial credit. If you come to class everyday and do the homework you will do fine! I HIGHLY recommend him:)

Professor Li is very inconsistent with his grading. He grades easier for some people and harder for others. He was not clear on his expectations for the class projects. He should have handed out rubrics. He clearly loves Math History, and he knows his stuff, but he's not very clear when explaining things (foreign accent). Can be pretty funny.

If you do the I-lrn homework and understand it you will do well. ALL of his test questions came straight from the homework, just with different numbers. However, sometimes he wouldn't go over homework questions that we didn't understand.. which was a little annoying. Generally pretty easy, especially if you've taken calc before! Good luck!

Dr. Li's class was not bad. He does online homeworks which are very easy (do them). His tests are based on his online homework and he allows calculators. His accent is not bad. It is not that diffucult to get an A.

If for any legitimate reason, you missed the online quiz or homework, he would open the system back up to let you take it. Very understanding. Teaches based on what style you want (examples vs theory). Speaks with Chinese accent but not that bad.

He doesn't do many examples in class, but the extra materials he provides you with are excellent learning tools. The material is pretty easy and if you whine enought about the fact that his tests take almost 2 hours, he will let you take part of it home.
