Y.M. is a great professor. Although his assignments can be challenging, he provides a lot of help for students and is easily accessible outside of class. He is also a fairly easy grader. His exams are not that difficult if you put in some effort. He is also hilarious too.

Boring lectures, doesn't really give you a good idea of what you actually need to know. But occasionally funny and really genuinely nice guy who will help as much as possible if you ask. Read slides for sure. A lot of learning for this course is outside the classroom.

He asked us to buy the textbook at the beginning of the term, but only used it in first class. Boring lecture and just read slides. His final project was confusing as he is confused about exact requirements. His project takes such a long time to prepare and you can't get a high grade. Final exam was super long. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND FOR HIS CLASS!

Really nice - but redesigning the course made it a terrible time. Confusing instructions that seemed to be made-up along the way. Made poor assumptions about the fact that students would understand basics of databases, data etc when the course is an introduction to MIS. Tried too hard on application when students did not have a base to even apply.

YM is one of the best profs at UBC. Although the course material can be dry, he tries to tie in his experiences and jokes into the material. He will also clarify material in simple terms if requested.For the project, he is available during office hours (and past the end of office hours), actively on the forums and via email as well. Recommended!

He is always in lab to help students out, he answers every question asked by students on vista, he even gave us his msn to help us whenever he has a moment, he increases his office hour many times just for students' convenience. He is responsible and reliabl, He makes the dry course so interesting. I like him a lot!

This course should not exist. A boring and unimportant extension to 391. YM is nice but teaches at a very basic level and makes a difficult exam. Access assignments take way too long and are much higher level than what is taught in the tutorials. Not worth going to the class as YM doesn't add much to the slides. Overall a very negative experience.

Y.M. is the most helpful of the non-accounting instructors in DAP. You will always get help from him no matter if he's already explained it once to the whole class. I do have to warn you that he has a thick HK accent which can make some words tough to understand. We don't get many breaks and time management can sometimes be an issue.
