I'm a 1989 Baruch MBA graduate. Prof Tsurumi's teachings are still with me today. To his current and future students, although his methods and teaching are extremely challenging, I am sure that many years later you will be well served given what Prof Tsurumi has provided. Thank you Prof Tsurumi

Even though he is an extremely challenging professor, you will learn true life lessons from him as you HAVE TO actually THINK in his class. And he provides great examples from his Japanese home country.

Professor Tsurumi is very knowledgeable. He's done hundreds of articles, written his own book, but he is not an easy professor. Honestly if more professors in Baruch pushed you as hard as he did, there may be hope for the graduates in Baruch. Because unlike other professors, he really tries to challenge you.

Do not take this professor for MKT 3400. On the first day of class he gives you a quiz to test how much you know about international principles. In general, gives you a whole bunch of material to read and doesn't cover it in class, and then expect you to be ready for his essay format testes. Hard to understand what he says.

Very knowledgeable professor. Lots of reading, but interesting material. He wants you to learn outside the box and lots of critical thinking. It was a good experience taking his class

I loved Prof Tsurumi! He has a lot of experience and like to teach. Some of his material is a bit old. However the reading on H.Schultz was really interesting! He teaches you something a bit different: to think outside the box! Few will get As ! And get ready to read A LOT ! But it was a really nice class!

One of the best Baruch's Professors: passionate about the subject, knowledgeable beyond imagination & intellectually challenging. Yes, it's possible to get an A in his class but you'd have to work hard. The class was so good, that I registered for Prof. Tsurumi's another course. I recommend this class to anyone interested in business & politics.

Great professor. So much experience to share. Great personality, keeps things very interesting. Lots of work and reading, but all very relevant and useful. He's tough and demanding, but his class is worth it. Will learn a lot!

This is my favorite class so far in the Baruch MBA program. There's no question the professor is passionate about his view of the world, and although personally I'm as liberal as he is, I wish he had presented a fuller spectrum of the political ideologies. Great class, I learned more from him than from any other professor.

He is a hard Professor with very outdated material to study from; concpets are still relevant to businesses even today. If you wan to do well, prepare for every single class(very heavy reading for every class)and make sure you grasp his thinking in all the material and you'll be fine. BTW-There is a test on the very first day of class!

He actually is a very good professor and you do learn a lot. BUT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET ABOVE A B+. Pretty hard class. Makes you think outside the box and while you are in the class it is pure suffering but once you take the final it all comes together. Tells you exactly what's on his tests. Check discussion board at least once a week.

Very good class if you don't mind opinionated liberal New-Deal-type prof. I learned a lot and liked most of the readings - some were old (and interesting), but many were recent articles and book excerpts. Fair tests - he told us specifically what would be on final, which was essay with open book/notes, so you could prepare effectively. Recommended.

I really enjoyed this class, my favorite so far at Baruch. Teacher is really passionate about the subject and very smart. Not a lot of homework but heavy reading. Material is interesting if you like the topic. Grades are based on how you grow as the class goes on and class participation is important

HE WILL CHALLENGE YOU. While the material is outdated, the lessons taught are, for the most part, still relevant to business in the modern world. Best thing you can do is go to class, prepare for each class, and offer thought provoking comments. He'll love you for it. My only wish is that he update his material. Midterm, Final, mini group projects.

The best professor I've had in Baruch!!! He is very demanding with a lot of materials to cover, but he actually broadened my knowledge base and he gives you a good grade if he notices you are improving. I actually felt I was in grad school for once!!!

Tsurumi will make you want to learn. I've never spent more time preparing for class ever. He makes you work, but its worth it. He'll scare you at the beginning and fail everyone a few times on assignments, but in the end everyone gets B's. I recommend him.

DO NOT TAKE HIM. Although the material is interesting, it is from from 60's & 70's.You need to spend at least 3-4 hours preaparing for each class. Best to learn his book by heart. He treats everyone like crap. He is smart, but everyone else is stupid. He'll ask a question and say your answer is wrong, but repeat the same thing as a correct one.
