Hard to understand , but so nice. The readings were done everyday in class. Go to him for extra help on all papers and tests and he will give you good advice. I asked him every question I had in the world about his class and he gave me an A. He's awesome! Don't be scared of his accent , it gets easier to understand.

The best part was that the readings (which are long) were read out loud in class the next day. Moroi has a deep Japanese accent but makes up for it by always being in good humor and helping students in every manner. He grades essays easily and is forgiving about absences if you participate, show interest, and give him a warning and/or excuse. A.

I love Sensei--he is, as far as I can tell, the greatest teacher in history. I have read accounts of Plato's lectures, I have heard Aristotle was alright, but something in me says that Sensei is the greatest.

Don't take this class with other hard classes. Moroi tried to kill us with work this semester. He is unclear about what is on tests and quizzes and often confuses what students have and haven't learned yet. To be fair, we were switching textbooks this year so there was a lot of catch up. But if you don't have the time, don't take this class.

"This is just checking." Be prepared for many quizzes in this class. They aren't necessarily difficult. Do your part and you will be fine. His explanations are really very clear. His side stories are hilarious, even to those with no sense of humour. Hurry up and become a "pro" sensei so we can have have you for higher level classes!

Moroi is a great sensei. His class is a lot of work, and you need to do most of it on your own, but he tries to practice each language point in class. He's always willing to answer questions and encourages class participation, and he'll give you extra credit too. Great sense of humor, keeps class interesting.

Moroi sensei is a really great professor. Every student gets an opportunity to speak several times each class period, and although there is homework every night it is not overwhelming and he doesn't take off points if you hand it in late. All he cares about is that you learn.

One of the most enthusiastic professors I have encountered. Lots of easy quizzes that help to pad your grade. Such a nice, cute professor that is always cracking jokes and having fun. I looked forward to his class every day. His sing-alongs rocked my world, and so does Moroi-sensei in general.

Great guy! His enthusiastic personality makes class interesting. Took it during the summer..2.5 hours a day went by quickly. Interest in subject helps. Quizzes and tests were very easy and to the point as long as you knew how to do the exercises in class...which were gone over all the time!!!

Far and away the best language teacher that I've encountered at BU. He is active in his teaching and enthusiastic about our learning. On top of it all, he is subtly (and sometimes not so subtly) hilarious, which always helps~loved the mysterious W!
