Prof Johnson is one of the worst university profs I've ever had. She's not very helpful and unwilling to assist students. I would not recommand this prof for other students.

How can so much evil fit into such a small body? Her specialty is linguistics, sol that's what she focuses on, even in language courses.Cares more about her research than teaching.Seems nice at first, but seems to go out of her way *not* to help if you ask for assistance.Rude, dismissive, has no time for students, especially undergrads.Avoid.

If you don't meet her expectation or simply the prof doesn't like you, she may kick you out of the course. My friend was taking this course a couple of years ago and that's what happened. You may end up hating Japanese because of her.

She sucks up to the admin and /"important people/". She is manipulative, unprofessional, dismissive and unsupportive of her students. She is only interested in what makes her look good. She lies to and about her students and her colleagues and is an embarassment to have at our University. I stand by all of these claims. Not a joke.

She not only tolerates, but seems to encourage mindless chatter not only during class, but during tests. The course content and the textbook (which she wrote) is interesting, and on the whole, well taught, but the assignments and quzzes can at times be vague.

What she teaches is interesting; however, how useful is it for 3rd year Japanese students who are trying to improve their Japanese skills? A whole year was spent on finding Relative Clauses, head nouns, etc. Not a very approachable professor (I wouldn't say she's mean though).

If you raise your hand to ask a question and she hates you, she'll call on someone else WHILE YOU'RE ASKING YOUR QUESTION. Dismissive and extremely unclear. Tests and quizzes are so vague because of her ridiculous English that it's difficult to understand why you even got something right.
