He is always available for questions and sometimes opens up more office hours. He does give pop quizzes a lot, like one a week and he only takes your top 10 quizzes, but if you do your homework you should be fine. However, he does not let you make up pop quizzes so don't skip out on class too much.

A great math professor. Many are discouraged by his accent, but if you sit at the front and listen the whole time, he's not too hard to understand. He gives a lot of quizzes, but they're short and not too difficult. He is very fair with his grading on his tests.

YOU MUST DO THE HOMEWORK TO PASS, and you may have to teach yourself stuff. He gives 13 pop quizzes for calculus III and you'll fail all of them if you don't do the homework. However, he is very organized and very understanding. He's not great at lecturing, so get ready to use youtube and khan academy. I rated him high because of his organization.

He is a very good professor. He really knows the materials. He is always willing to help Inside and outside of the classroom. His test materials are very reasonable. He gave a lot of quizzes to help us to review. All the notes and test answer keys were posted on line. We can access the resources easily.

Quizzes are a large part of the grade and he gives them randomly, though usually after spending about two days on a subject.

I don't understand all of the bad ratings for Liu. I didn't like his class at first, but ended up enjoying it because you can tell he really cares about your understanding of the material. Yes, it is hard. But if you spend time on it every night then you will do fine.

About as middle of the road for a math teacher as you can get. Not hard, but you definitely need to study. Tests are 110/100, but you can lose a good amount of points for small things. He's a little hard to understand at times, and he has made mistakes while answering questions, but the point gets through. There are better profs but Liu is okay.

He is not a bad professor, but some things he does is very annoying. Hard to understand him sometimes, weekly quizzes that are insane, and never finishes problems when he works them out (expects you to know how, which is pointless because when you ask you want the FULL steps, not like 2 of them). Tests are fair. Take someone else, though, if u can.

His tests are 110/100 meaning you have the opportunity for 10 bonus points. He goes over hw in class and just checks rather than grades it. He has poor handwriting but he is willing to repeat or clarify. He gives weekly 5 point pop quizzes (about 20) which he grades fairly hard but he only takes the top 10. His is a bit quirky but I recommend him.

He makes up his own notes and posts them on ilearn for you to print off and bring to class. He is hard to follow at the beginning of the semester but its easy once you get used to it. His exams are out of 110 points so that makes it easier and they are just like the review sheet he gives you

Dr. Liu is really clever and a decent teacher, if you can hear him. He doesn't speak too loudly, and they only way to ensure you can pay attention is to sit as close to him as possible. You'll do yourself a huge favor by completing the homework. I pulled a C teaching the class to myself. If math is your thing, then you'll be just fine.

If you wanna pass the class sit in the very front, have a print of his pre-lecture papers and make sure to have different color pins (about 5!). DO THE WOMEWORK even though he doesn't grade it! he will answer all your questions inside and outside. in his class u will find at least 2 asleep, 6 or more studying from the book or for another subject.

Do not ever take him, if you see his section is open. It's because no one wants to take him. Makes stuff harder than its supposed to be, gives partial credits but pop up quizzes will lower your letter grade. No reccomend, and one more thing, he never uses black board, he uses his tablet to teach, which I really hate.

Get ready to fail calculus, be careful with pop up quizzes and don't think you're gonna get A after 1st exam. Calculus wouldnt be that hard.

the guy speaks english faster than I do, but the thing is no body understands nothing what he says. He pretends we all know the stuff well, he usually jumps from step 1 to end of the question. when I go back home and practice the same question I realize there are heck of steps that he's just skipped. so be careful with that.
